Happiness: A condition that can be paid for through monetary wealth? Or a delusional state-of-mind of the financially poor ?
Fck that 5hlt, I've got Tourettes.

Or perhaps I'm just a tw@t, or socially disadvantaged ?

I disengage, I turn the page.

Do you believe that more people have time off for mental issues in these professions because they are more stressful than other jobs, or because it's 'easier' to do in those environments? Genuine question and I don't know the answer, but it seems to be self-fulfilling to a degree: if people know of others in the workplace who have had time off for these conditions, are they not far more likely to go down that route themselves, since the barriers are already down?

This was my thoughts. Do people you aren't actually suffering from a mental illness take advantage. Everyone gets sad, stressed, down and maybe slightly depressed this is impossible to remove. It seems at the slight sign of these people now take time off rather than just carrying on with life. Which is wrong a probably sways the figures.

Don't get me wrong anyone with mental illness or genuinely suffering depression. Needs help and support and I am an advocating for speaking out and promoting mental health.

I just think a lot of people now cry depression or stress. When actually they are just a bit down.

Look no further than the OP for evidence of what obsession can do to mental health.

When humans are forced to do stuff that doesn't come naturally or they experience an acute stress then that can affect their mental health for sure.
This can happen in any system.
How you respond to stress often depends on how conditioned you are to handling it and the individual.

I think that illustrates the point nicely.

Keep taking the meds.

This is an outrageous post.

I assume you don't know whether or not Nick as affected by a mental health issue.

I strongly recommend you take the comment back.

Yes, because having a pop in your very first post was bound to avoid a response.

Grow up. You are in your 40s for god sake.

If you want to avoid squabbling then don't respond to my posts or reference me on the first post in one of your stupid lefty threads.

Understand. I don't care about you or your little lefty crusade. You are an irrelevance.

Happiness is best defined by Jez from Peep Show:

"Yeah, exactly. I mean, if people only did everything they wanted, everyone would just spend all day sitting on the carpet, watching the poker channel, w***ing and eating those expensive German biscuits."

"That was fun and to round off the day, I am off to steal a charity collection box and then desecrate a place of worship.” - Smokey, The Selhurst Arms, 26/02/02

I am sorry to hear that. It does not excuse you effectively stating another poster has a mental illness. If he does that is his own concern and not a matter of which to make light.
