One Brighton supporter said they didn't want to return to Leicester ever again! About 50 people were seen singing offensive songs. That's almost 0.2% of the ground. Handy they already played them away then and won't be next season.

BHA fans kept a dossier a few seasons back and there were songs sung at them on average every other away game they went to. Its not right, but really can't see that changing much in the PL. Any ground where the away fans are located next to the home 'noisy' bit, it is likely to happen. Are they going to make a fuss to the press that often? Only making the news because its the Premier League and they are new to it. Won't be a story in a few weeks, the press will have new things to write about Errr...the complaint to the press was made by a gay Leicester fan.

Some of it is banter but, from the reports I read, this crossed the line into homophobic abuse which has no place inside or outside a football stadium. I guess everyone's lines are in a different place. I'm sure there are plenty of gay guys and girls who laugh at the ridiculous chants from palace fans and take it as light hearted "banter" (however that's defined) but there are also those who take serious offence. I'd rather not hear it personally. To make a joke about someone's sexuality infers that there's something laughable about it which is knuckle dragging, Neanderthal humour and should be extinct by now.

Ok, fans were ejected for singing/chanting offensive things, so by rights anything that's deemed offensive chanted at players or fans alike should be dealt with similarly. what about when the cameras pan to the crowd and you can see fans giving the w***er sign...soon enough there will be no one attending games as if you breath or so much as look at someone in a way that 'offends' you'll be out. I'm not saying the stewards were wrong, just asking where it now stops? If, as is likely, only perceived 'homophobic' chants, comments are acted upon it'll only further isolate a group who seemingly want to be treated as normal...which is rather ironic.
