We have been badly organised since Pulis and that Arsenal game, this league is probably a little bit above us to survive in especially when we compare ourselves with Brighton who have a wonderful stadium and just players to worry about, when Murray comes to our ground and wins it for them I will fully understand how annoyed he must of been with the way we wasted money and time on attacking play while he sat on the bench, we waste far too much money for a club in our situation.

We have a lot of trolls on this forum, and some of them are quite subtle. You are not one of the subtle ones.

So by trying to stay within FFP rules we are being run badly?
Murray was not rated by our managers at the time, or should SP have interfered in team selection?
Any club with an up to date ground has an advantage over us as we have so much infrastructure to improve, whilst they can just spend on players.

Agree with OP. We are in this position due to bad panic signings when previous managers and Parish spend loads on average championship players giving them large contracts to get them in .
I like all Palace fans will be forever indebted to Parish and others for saving us in 2010 but is he out of his depth in the football world . FdB and SP have said give youth a chance . Getting in two players under 21 in on loan sums up our youth policy . The likes of Mutch Lee Sako and maybe Kelly will get no playing time in this team but are holding us to ransom . Can you blame them with the contracts Parish has given them . We need three or four in of PL quality not championship . It's time to fulfill out potential and get up the table to at least a top ten finish

Everyone wants us to sign players. Some will not work out and then we are stuck with them, because there are no guarantees in football. Then people blame SP because he signed them. Tell me, how is he able to win here? Players with prem experience fail as often as championship players succeed. You gamble to save money.
Maybe we just sign no one then and work with what we've got. Everyone happy with that?

Our youth team is the best way of raising funds, like Southampton do. FDB will help us with that, we can either winge and moan about the immediate pain or take a punt with optimisum.

I'd rather sell Macca Sako Chungy Mutch Damo than Andros though.

SP said they were looking to offload those who won't play much of a role, so i hope that means the middle four.

If we can only up our wage bill by £7m according to the rules, that means we can afford three players on £50k a week. What price range does that get us?

ive been saying for a while now, that all these players weve wasted millions on over the last few years like guerdioura, mariappa, campbell, mutch, sako, chungy, adebayor to name a few. when you weight up time on the pitch & what theyve actually added to the performances we should have been bringing thru kids on 10% of their wages to be "squad/bench places", and i hope this is the way we go moving forward.

its all good saying lets sell chungy/sako/jimmy mac but i bet their wages average out north of 40k a week and i wouldnt blame them if they didnt move for a paycut as i wouldnt if i was them. some team, probably championship will take those 2 on, jimmy mac good enough for PL team.

like kermit said earlier, sako & mutch will have cost the club over £20m for what? if schlupp stays with us for the duration of his contract he will have cost the club in excess of £30m just take these numbers in fro a minute and realise were punching above our weight

Parish is saying we need to sell to buy and hoping for 3 more players (very unlikely).

Why have we not got any money from American investors, Chinese sponsors and £100+ million TV dosh?

We have a thin squad with no PL quality goalie & one striker, and let alone needing PL quality in other positions, we have a manager whose footballing philosophy has produced one shot on target and no goals in 2 games and us plating up goals for opposing teams!

As many of you will know supporting Palace is not and has never been a choice for me, my season ticket is a given. So can someone offer me something in my despair that Parish may have just murdered our season and PL status other than blind and delusional optimism?

Parish is a past master at managing expectations,he constantly does the old cupboard is bare stuff and then up pops the cash for a Benteke or a PVA.Pay negotiations with him must be a very painful affair indeed. Believe all that you see and treat his comments with a healthy scepticism.
