On the whole I think Wilfred does deal with it, but the liberties taken are amazing and he is routinely ignored by referees, it is interesting that FLB commented that he was resilient having played with the injury for half an hour.
Some of the early challenges needed to be stamped on by the referee because they just continued ad nauseum and the eventual yellow card was too late, I am not saying that Huddersfield did not deserve something from their play nevertheless I do think had the referee intervened early in their bullying and fouling tactics the result may have been more equal.
In the end Moss is not really fit to referee.

If Wilf or anyone else is badly injured through a foul they should instigate legal proceedings. Once a few have done it the most cynical fouls will be cut out.

Haha, proceed legal proceedings, what for ? The most laughable post I've ever seen on here.

You do know that the law of the land regarding assault on one's person applies even on the sports fields So it's not such a laughable post as you might think.

For a foul on a football pitch? Pathetic.

Football would quickly die. As most of the fans have been 'upped' playing weekend football and laughed about it over a pint after.
Had my leg broken, would never take the other man to court.
You're a bit weird mate ( before you say it , I know we aren't mates)

Learn to deal with it says the great Gough, then uses Bale and Hazard as examples of those that have. That's Gareth, been injured for two years, Bale and Hazard who's currently injured and was repeatedly on the treatment table during Jose's meltdown season.
I cannot remember the last time Wilf missed any games through injury? Surprising, as he never hides and no matter how many kicks he takes he just comes back for more. He needs to toughen up these two moronic f***wits claim and they talked about it as if Wilf had been complaining and he just needs to grow up. Wilf has said nothing, but the fact they have bought it up means some are beginning to see the pattern emerging. I pay to watch the skill players, not the donkeys that clog them, so yes they should be protected. And people wonder why the really big players choose Spain?
The early tackles from behind are the ones that need to be sorted. A tackle from behind is illegal and dangerous, but refs are programmed to allow players an early hit for some moronic reason. Teams now target the danger man and make sure all the early hits are carried out by different players. Therefore 3 or 4 players get a free hit, the victim gets 4 whacks and no one gets a card. Luckily Wilf is like Messi in his resistance to injury and not like Kieron Dyer.
No one was booked for fouling Wilf, yet he was fouled more times than Huddersfield during the game. It's time our own players started to defend him IMO, like in the good old FFS, Delaney, Jedi days.

^^
I was more backing this statement up rather than saying anything about Wilfried.

That said, after seeing the fouls on him in pre-season I was going to start a thread about us needing backup for him as he is clearly being targeted by opposing managers and it that it would only be a matter of time before he's injured. I didn't think it would be after the first match of the Season though.

I think I read on one of these threads(or BBS) that someone was sitting behind the Huddersfield bench on Saturday, and every time wilf was taken out..the whole bench clapped and cheered...obvious targeting.

always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

There's a massive difference between assaulting someone and injuring them from a bad challenge while both parties are participating in a contact sport.

i played in that same league...as per normal sunday league, some teams are proper c***y teams who just want to fight & hurt people, when i players from that very team i got threatened to "get caged" and got 2 footed a few times, these things happen.

also in another game v that team my mate got nutted & my 16 y/o goalie got a few punched from a late 30's guy for saving a penalty & smiling because he was happy afterwards. same old sunday league...and to think some teams let them win becaue they didnt want their legs broken!!!

not sure what relevence this has to wilf tho...sunday league is sunday league, some things we see would be banned for 20 games in the PL.
