couple of thoughts:

*dann should have buried his chance. you can't miss that.
*1st goal was disgusting. who was at fault? everyone except WH.
*2nd goal. even more disturbing than the 1st. WH rightly angry. no one marked. just awful.
*breakaway saved by F-M: terrible giveaway. WH would have conceded. no doubt.
*3rd goal: me and 10 random fellows from the street could have defended that better. and i'm not in too good of shape.
* WZ: seemed as the attacking gameplan was to just pass the ball to him and hope he makes something happen. if you're playing possession football, then maybe pass it around and get better looks. or create opps for benteke. no idea what they were trying to accomplish.

watching the goals, WH actually can't be blamed for any of it. maybe he had the best game. i'm not his biggest supporter but i don't see what else he could have done.

No mention of the attacker who missed an even more glaring open goal? Or the the striker who is world renowned for being deadly with his head missing from about 8 yards with the keeper stranded?
You are right though, Dann should have buried that but he is a centre half.

Personally, I don't think we played as badly as some are suggesting.

We created some clear cut chances which on another day would have gone in. That's quite encouraging for day one of the new system in The Premier League. I think Wagner was correct in stating that the score was not a true reflection of the game. Ultimately, a couple of defensive errors cost us the game.

I've been impressed with FDB since his arrival. I think he comes across very well in his interviews and he's been very vocal on his admiration for the supporters.

The only major thing I think he's got wrong so far is buying into the 'he's one of our own' philosophy regarding Jason Puncheon and making him captain, presumably thinking that's what the fans want to see. If everyone is fit then he shouldn't be in the team and I suspect he won't be when other players return.

We have signed 6 better players than what he already had since January without selling anyone important and with the promise of a few more to come the team and system will get better in time.

Some of the knee jerk reactions are ridiculous. It's the only way the club is going to progress and the ambition ought to be respected and admired by the fans.

Cheers.
Tommy.

1st goal. Oldest trick in the book the near post corner, something that Frank being Dutch has never seen in his life. 2nd goal the ball worked far too easily on our right and Riedwalde just stood there and gave Mounie a training ground header. 3rd PVA went missing on our left all the time in the world to pick out Mounie who wasnt closed down quick enough. Dreadful defending for all 3 the remedy? SAKHO

>> CB on the half volley - Shame it dropped to him of all people. Not really known for his accurate shooting.

Nope Hennessey must be the only keeper I've seen that when the ball is going over him from the byline, doesn't track back across his goal. He should have been moving across the goal to his far post when that ball goes over him.

Pretty much, of course their Keeper saved a very similar one from Benetekkers, but in fairness the defence was s**t.

Scott Dann f**ked up. Magnificent recovery tackle.

I think using the term defence in relation to that is generous, I'd expect better from a team of 10 strikers.

Clearly getting no protection from the referee, and as soon as Huddersfield realised that, they were constantly fouling him (and as a result he's injured). When he lays the ball off, it seems no one is coming in to the box behind him. But clearly played on with a serious knock if he's out for four weeks.

Well except for his constant adherence to trying to always play out from the back putting the defence under pressure, the failure to track across his goal for the 1st one, several spooned goal kicks out into touch, a dropped ball etc.

I don't dislike Hennessey, I just think he isn't good enough to be more than the back up guy.
