Really hope he stays but in fairness I think he's served us well and even during the Pardew dogs*** still put a shift in every single game. Can't really blame if he wants to play out his career in his home country. Having said that, we must look to replace him. Sadly the money we are likely to get makes it difficult to find a player as experienced with as much vision as someone like Yohan. After watching RLC today, a combination of him and Cabaye would be excellent in my opinion.

Only my opinion and it is as valid as any other and based on as much knowledge (!) but as early as last winter I always thought YC would leave this summer. Posters say the only reason for doing so is money. Maybe but more important than that is that he may much prefer to live around Marseille. Sun, sea, great food, good society, his own country etc etc. He is after all a French guy. Seems to me splendid reasons! I hope he stays but can quite understand if he left!
Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time! |

One player as good as Mamadou Sakho could have made Pardew smell very nice, as I remember the football at times was quite exciting and I've seen quite a lot to compare.

I know it fairly well and I think that's over-egging the pudding somewhat. It's grimy, noisy and very rough in places and unsafe for women to walk around unaccompanied. Lots of dog faeces too (why don't dog owners clean up after themselves?), but if it were a choice between Marseilles and Croydon, on a footballer's wages, I know where I'd be headed. I wouldn't live in Marseilles, though. I'd move out a bit to a nicer area, of which there are many. If OM are really in for him, I can't see him staying. Edited by Mr. Talons (06 Aug 2017 3.55am)

Edited by Mr. Talons (06 Aug 2017 3.55am) Marseille is not the most attractive if places, crime, faeces (mais naturellement) etc but as you say if you go a few k north, west or east it is a very different s.tory and I am sure YC has got a bob or too to find somewhere 99.9% of Eagles would jump at - and who could blame us! He will be off but as good as he is we will have a few bob in the account and ....... it's exciting times ahead. No doubt another roller coaster ride!🤡

Croydon Advertiser has given an injury update saying that Cabaye is now off the treatment table and is back in training but will probably not be ready in time for Huddersfield. No clue as to what the injury was though

I didn't read your first post properly - I thought you had written 'in Marseilles' instead of 'around Marseilles'. That'll teach me to read posts properly. So.. my apologies. I agree 100% with what you say. I just wish I had the money to do the same. All the best.
