I also wonder if we're after two CB's and not just one. Would not surprise me if we move for two.

Although that along with the others we want is going to smash the bank..

Just the lack of playing time he had in pre season, not used as wingback and only played one half against Liverpool. Unfortunately doesn't suit the system.

With you on this Brauny. Think some opinions on players get floated on here and other posters jump on board with said opinion. All of a sudden decent players are bombed out or deemed surplus to requirement. Works the other way as well of course. Think Joel has fallen foul of this treatment on the last few months. He's plenty good enough for our RB position and has been since we came up.

He's better under a manager that is safety first. At his best under Pulus and Sam. Dodgy under Alan. Not good at going forward really.

I agree with what you're saying about people joining in on opinions. It's happened with Jimmy Mac on HOL. One of our most consistent performers through thick and thin, gets injured, Sam comes in, Jimmy doesn't play regularly or have a regular role and doesn't get back to form and is deemed as poo. Really? I'd agree on accepting a good price for him if a replacement can be signed bearing in mind the 1 year left on his contract but to conclude he's suddenly not good enough or poo shows a lack of knowledge or a very poor memory.

James mcarthur wasn't himself since the back spasms, he lost form massively. He's been unable to get any minutes this season, through pre season. While he did have a good 2015, we performed better without him since then.

Not if we sell Cabaye and Dann.

Same happened with Dann recently too.

We performed better because of Sakho and Luka through the spine of the team and then having some left footed players to choose from to play on the left, not because James MacArthur wasn't playing.

Zaha and Jimmy have been reliable performers during sh1t times as well as good. Jimmy didn't get in the team under Sam and it's made a frustrating return and recovery.

Sorry but what you're saying is wrong. He's still in phases of returning, but because he's still in those phases people say his form has dropped massively. Sorry but that's shyte. Have you ever tried to play a fast sport after being overplayed through injury because you were relied upon so much and now you're not you can't get back to that peak? Probably nobody with that opinion has.

Time will tell, if the club rate him as high as you do why didn't they offer him a new deal . He gives 100% but neither an excellent defensive mid or a great attacking mid.

A month or so back, I was saying that we should look to buy 5 players at £8 million rather than one at £40 million. The answer that came back was that we only had £20 million to spend. Although no one could explain the basis for this figure.

6 weeks later, it doesn't really seem any clearer. We have signed two, but we are talking about another four. The figures being spoken about makes it seem like ww might even be north of the £40 million i was talking about. Does anyone have any better ideas how much we have to spend?

The simple answer is "no" as the only people that know exactly how much we have to spend are the manager and the board of directors.

Incidentally if the figure of four more signings is correct one of them could be a loan don't forget
