OFCOM mate says the days of streaming are more or less over. Reckons broadcasters were losing loads of revenue because of it and have managed to convince the government to clamp down big time. I think streams from abroad will still work, but getting them to work in the UK's gonna be tough.

You purchase a VPN this is the way to do it Yes some of which you stated are not illegal but you can get in trouble by watching it is copyrighted content.

OFCOM know f all and it show's this when Sky own figures showed increase in revenue but they was claiming to be having big loses this is typical big companies without evidence getting special treatment. Streams have always been hosted outside the uk what you did get was people redirecting them to uk generate some £££ from traffic/ads It's not tough at all VPN does the job all my friends do this pay for VPN and Premier League pass for both it's not even £100 for the year. [Link] this is vpn they use and have done for over 5 years

You can use TOR to watch streams (although with my particular ISP, I don't need to). Sometimes it's slow, but then other streaming methods are sometimes slow. You just reload to find a quicker relay. You don't have to view ads - you can block them. You don't need to waste any money by paying for a VPN.. ..and you won't get into trouble by just watching - it's not illegal. *Posted from my PC using TOR. Edited by Mr. Talons (28 Jul 2017 3.10pm)

I made a thread here end of last season showing how to set up Acestream, much much better quality and more reliable than streaming on Kodi or in a browser, runs in a normal media player, no ads at all, no pop ups, none of that bollocks, it's peer 2 peer so it's harder to shut down. Not every game is on it but I watched the vast majority of Palace's games last season with it. Edit: [Link] Edited by boo909 (28 Jul 2017 5.41pm)

Who said it was illegal and sorry again you are wrong you can get in trouble for viewing people forget when you watch something online you are downloading to view it which if not protected gives the owner of the content the right to take action it's civil matter so tends to be fines (loads of cases of this happening) wth this news measures i can see people like Sky exploiting this to scare people or claim high fines even have you banned from ISP

There's no searchable tracker or website like for example PirateBay where torrent files need to be uploaded, someone just starts streaming and posts a link, so there's nothing for anyone to focus on and shut down. It's just based on the bittorrent protocol, it's a completely different thing to downloading from PB or Kickass or anything like that, much harder to shut down. Plus it's so far under the radar as far as the cavemen in the UK government (or any government) are concerned it may take 50 years for them to catch up. It's the way everyone will be doing it when they do finally find a way to block these streaming sites. It's worth giving it a go before the season starts see what you think at the very least. But the difference has been amazing for me.

Living in South Africa I use a VPN and a variety of streaming sites. I use the ace streams and VLC Media Player where possible but otherwise just stream through my VPN. Invariably I end up with US streams so I set my VPN to the USA and voila. The only downside is the American punditry which is truly crappy!

And on a note of sadness, I see that Navix have given up after 10+ years of doing a very fine job

What !!! I loved that app. You would find some really quirky things on it. Shame. In regards to streaming, I say, just use whatever method or system you can to save money, for as long as that system is running. You can spend silly money on Sky, BT, Virgin etc and then not be able to watch the match you want to see. I have been using a firestick with Kodi on it for a couple of years and I have hardly missed a match. I work/travel a lot, so can only get to a handful of matches but at least I can enjoy the game where I am. As an overall safeguard for all your online activities, not just watching a game or a film, I cannot stress enough the importance of a VPN. For me, it's just about protecting my data from private companies and individuals who seek to exploit.
