Amazing day and route. Really enjoyed it. Up at 5.15am, cycled from Canary Wharf to Stratford for 6.30am and finally set off at 08.40am. Completed it in 6 hours. Train back to Devon at 8pm arriving home at 11.30pm. Long day, shattered but raised £940 for children with cancer. Once again a very well done to you. Seems a long time ago reading your post on here for sponsors. And yes I still think your barking bloody mad x

If so why not post a link and you never know you might get it up to £1,000

A few hold ups, Gomshall for about 10 minutes for an ambulance and similar in Wimbledon. Had to stop for pedestrians a few times too. Needed 3 wee breaks, at my age my bladder can't go too long without needing a piss

Yeah pedestrians were defo taking their life's in their own hands coming in to central London! I stopped at mile 48 (Newlands corner) and mile 75 (leatherhead) for a wee. Saw some nasty accidents on route aswell. Some people have no fear on those descents and although I wanted to go fast, finishing it safely was more important. I've applied for next years this morning, but the ballot is a nightmare, so I'm thinking of doing the charity route again and going for "Mind" as this is a mental health charity and something close to my heart. It's just asking people to sponsor me again which could be tricky. I've thought about contacting the club to see if they are interested in doing something

Strange having the whole road to yourself, but you have to be weary of roadies under taking you as well as over, but it's immense! The support in the little villages is great! All out in force, drinking and playing music as they ring their bells shouting allez! Allez! Allez!
