1. Puncheon needs to offer more.
2. L-Cheek looks the goods - next captain perhaps.
3. Damo and Kelly... You both know...
4. Keshi and the youngsters were class.
5. With FDB we have a bright future.

Let's save our Liverpool win for August.

Loftus-cheek is a loan signing, I doubt we'll make him captain before giving him back to Chelsea.

Why wasn't Cabaye playing?

Cant say I was as impressed with Keishi as I was with the other youngsters tbh. Good to see them all getting a run out.

Staggered he has been made Captain !

Let's hope it's the McCarthy-style

He contributed virtually nothing last season and has since turned 31. Cabaye and Loftus-Cheek must be ahead of him

1. People are as negative after losing a preseason as they would be for a league game.
2. Can see the youngsters really start to feature and have a proper chance for the first time in ages to put they're hands up to become decent squad members.
3. If we go 3 at the back.. we know not to do it with the slowest defenders in the team.
4. Wilf,Benteke,Luka,Townsend(at a stretch) have to be the first names on the sheet with confidence they'll not disappoint.
5. Good run-out, this tournie is all about worldwide fan exposure, de boer figuring out his team, and getting everyone prepped for august 12th, big changes since may, bright future ahead.

What I don't understand is why the management think JP is a good captain. At the end of last season with him captain, we lost 4 of our last 5 without scoring a goal and without looking greatly bothered about it. If that is his effect, then please can we have someone else wearing the armband, preferably someone who deserves to be in the starting line-up on merit?

Puncheon should not be captain, in fact I don't believe he should be in the starting team. No change from last season unfortunately, out of position most of the time, gives the ball away and flaps with his arms at other players when he should be there himself.

Delaney is finished and is behind Kelly for me as a centre back, he was badly exposed today.

Schlupp struggles at LB and both PVA and Souare when fit should be ahead of him for that position.

Hennessey still makes some poor decisions although I thought he played reasonably well today.

Otherwise, I thought it was positive with some of the youngsters looking bright. The biggest downside of FDB's plan as I see it is that half of our players do not pass well enough to do what he is telling them.

Oh, their second goal was offside as well although the Liverpool biased commentators failed to spot that.

The word "Incredulity" entered my mind when I heard that he was appointed as captain.

Couldn't agree more. He doesn't change, dirty player. Outrageous tackle for a pre-season friendly and might have seen red in a league match it was that late. Wilf will have to get used to it though, the better he gets, the more he will be targeted especially if FDB wants him to play more centrally.
