Good he maybe, but having ability is one thing, staying free from injuries is also a massive component of being a top footballer.

We need a striker so that we have cover if Benteke is injured or suspended because you can bet that within 15 minutes of coming on wickham will be off with an injury. Why would we possibly look at this expensive player who has a worse injury record than Wickham. This guy has hardly kicked a ball in 2 seasons.

I'd take him on a free and 'pay as you play' deal, so he's only getting a wage if he's fit and available. Good player on that basis, and worth a squad number...
