Object Fixation, innit. Anyone who rides a motorbike will know that if you look straight at a pothole in the road, you will ride into it, despite your efforts to steer around it. This may well be one of the reasons goal keepers seem to dress if they work for Dyno Rod: it increases the chances of the ball being fired straight at them. For that reason (Steeeve) a goal keeper should never wear black, no matter how cool it looks. You mean like this?...... And wasn't it a few years ago that after a thrashing by Saints Fergie blamed their first half performance on the grey jerseys that United were wearing? (Didn't they change into another shirt second half?)

He has a point. Split seconds and trying to pick someone out in black is harder.

When I was looking at a new car a few year back there was an internet guide that said black motors are difficult to pick out at glance and are involved in more accidents than other coloured cars. Anyway although I'm a boring cvnt I still think the kit looks poo.

Different now with LED etc Black shirts don't seem to harm New Zealand rugby teams unduly. Although the Rugby Union version admittedly hasn't won its last couple of games

Managers and players who lose make excuses for their mistakes shirt colour is the most feeble.

On the basis that these days there are so many in the stands wearing replica shirts it all becomes a bit of a nonsense. The giveaway to players is their team mates are the ones on the pitch rather than those in the grandstands. 😉 Yes, but half the players on the pitch are playing for the opposition.
