Would love him too but highly doubt it. There must a feeling that papa. Would never be the same especially with us investing 28m on 2 left backs.

This is the most sensible question on HOL for a while. If these players are worth their transfer fee you could expect them to meet a minimum standard of being able to play left or right. The reverse argument is that Kelly struggled on the left and Ward to a point, but overall is this approach forcing a square leg into a round hole. It's something I imagine we'll try at some point, but I am talking forced rather than experimenting as FdB could bring backup across the backline.

On topic, love Pape and hope he gets a further chance here and is back to full health and ability.

He's here, he's there
His name is nearly Square!
Pape Souare, Pape Souare

Even if they aren't comfortable with their right (although PVA scored with his right last season against Boro I think?), PVA/Schlupp and (if he returns) Souare may well have more joy at right back than Kelly did at left back just because their pace will get them out of sticky situations quite a lot of the time.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Why the hell, would he play right back, when he's never played there in his whole football career.
