Credit to Ward though he's put in many a decent shift, personally think he gets singled out as being weak a bit to much. I think he's class, decent at defending and runs all day. He makes the odd mistake but who doesn't. Hes done us proud and I hope he enjoys fighting for his place and stays positive.

Joel, is that you?

While I agree that ward need competition for his place. Fans are happy to give Williams chance after chance. I respect ward has not been fantastic last season. A 400k player the amount of service he's given the club deserves respect.

Eh?

Dann is normally very comfortable on the ball, and has a very good range of passing?

I agree , I always thought his passing/ calmness on the ball was one of his strengths!

Shame but Parish just admitted that the Sakho deal is definitely dead in the water, it was just too much money for a defender in Parish's eyes.

I thought they wanted 30m for him and personally think he is worth more than Bolasie (who I loved playing for us)
I think current market prices are disgustingly high but Sakho was a must for me. Maybe his wages were too high and he is prepared to keep the bench warm and the bank manager happy rather than take a drop. I dont blame him, butI felt he could be really at home with us and would be first on the sheet

When they kick out your front door. How you gonna come ?

I agree.

Based on the OP's principles about the only player to fit that would be Joel Ward and the left backs.

Delaney and Scott will struggle. So will Kelly.

Tompkins should be 'OK'.

Ward? The same ward that's arguably the worst player in the first 11.

Tomkins and to a slightly lesser extent, Dann both fit the bill.
As for Delaney he's going nowhere because, for the same reason he's been kept around thus far, every team needs that brute of an enforcer player. There are games and line ups we'll play where sticking him on will be far more beneficial than somebody who can make cute passes.

For me Dann's form dropped was when he started to captain us.

He is still captain so I await to see if that continues.

If Dann plays from the start he could turn out like we have signed someone for nothing due to him getting injured and then not getting back in the side then getting injured again last season.

Agreed. Given his position, we are inclined to remember his mistakes but not so much the rest of his day. He's a decent player.

We'll always take an upgrade at any position but Ward has been a great servant to the club.

Not in doubt. But he has often has great difficulty finding another Palace shirt with a pass!!

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

Love t see a statistic on this, because it doesn't feel the case to me. Like many, I feel he gets singled out unfairly, when in fact he normally puts in a really decent shift.

If only it were White, rather than Yellow!
