I believe that Wilshere is a vastly more talented footballer than Williams but there might be some on here who disagree.

I agree but they just appear to have had similar paths at their respective clubs.

To compare the quality of wilshere and Williams is laughable. Wilshere a quality player, who injuries have held him back, whereas Williams yes suffered injuries but even when on the pitch. I never thought wow what a player.

Cannot envisage any PL club being interested in signing Williams but I can for Wilshere. For me they are simply not in the same league.

He isn't comparing their abilities just the fact they are both liked by the fans and have come up through the academy and have both been hampered by persistent injuries.

Remember when we appointed burley and Holloway a similar message was said, now Williams can thrive. I hope for his sake that he's moved on for his career.

Wilshere established himself in the first team, and put in some incredible performances against top quality opposition.

In reality, Williams comes on, runs around and gets fouled. That's about it. He's never been indispensable to anyone, never really 'owned' a game, even before the injuries.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

This is the problem. There's no room for sentiment in football. Take away his academy background. You got an injury prone player that hardly done anything. If a player with he's stats and appearances record was bought 4 years ago. We'd all be saying get rid.

I have never understood, why people keeping wanting him to play again for the first team. I cannot remember anything he has done in the last 4 years, that is anywhere near justifying this sentiment. If he wasn't from the youth team, he would be getting dogs abuse.
The hard facts are, he isn't good enough fit or not for us, we have moved on.
A midfield 4 of Cabaye,Milojevic,Townsend and Zaha, who is he going to replace?

He probably needs to drop down a league or 2, just hasn't played enough football in the last 4 years. I'd love to see him do well, but unfortunately I can't see it being with us.

Spot on. I mean Sean scanell done more than Johnny Williams and he left the club 5 years ago.
