This gives me high hopes. We haven't won the Premier League without Frank de Boer at the helm.

Such is the squad and the cost of bringing in new players that we can't expect an immediate revolution. We could see a couple of lower-half finishes but so long as the squad is improving for the future, that's fine.

FdB has already said he's itching to fritter Palace's money (I might be paraphrasing). I reckon we might beat United to Harry Kane.

It all comes down to if the players believe in him. If they do, then we can hope for mid table finish, if not higher.

I watched the Highlights on youtube of Ajax beating Barcelona in the 2013 champions league with FDB in charge. Fast fluid attacking football with wingers playing there part. Hell yeah love it.bring it on Frankie.

I agree with Parish in that article. But it takes time. Frank will need to be here for years to achieve it, or find a like for like replacement if Frank leaves, and that's only if he's succeeded. If there isn't too much disruption to away tactics then some tweaks at home may be quite rewarding. Change it too much though and I'm not confident. We don't have 20 great players. We have 15 max, and a good few of those aren't comfortable being closed down with the ball. I am hopeful but not yet dancing round the house about it. It's similar to signing a European player who's never played in the prem. For all the right intentions there is the possibility of a Martinez result at Everton. Only like Parish said, they don't suddenly get relegated in one season. I'm all for giving it a go, but like everyone in football knows, it takes 3 windows to get anywhere near to where you want your squad to be, and to get there you need results to be good or okay depending on club. Maybe we both need each other. I'm not sure and I doubt anyone knows the balance of this professional relationship yet. This'll be interesting. A bit more interesting than Pulis and Sam, although I loved the matches under both of them. We were like a coiled spring, ready to take the 3 points in a passage of play. Very good post Rudy. Would just had that we have had quite a few PL transfer windows now, and a bumper one in January, so in my view the squad is well positioned now to win a decent few matches in the PL. Personally I would have prefered the same counter-attack playing style and there might be a few matches where the new style hasnt really bedded down yet. But the club is clearly willing to go with a new approach, so lets wish everyone the best of luck!

It's undoubtedly exciting. A huge name and we are undoubtedly on the map in world football terms. I remember being gutted that QPR poached Warnock... how long ago that seems. (Not to mention the season of utter dross I endured under Peter Taylor, the last time I had a season ticket.)

Edited by YT (27 Jun 2017 11.06am) Looks like he is not planning at least initially, to make huge changes to the coaching staff. Its looking likely that Sammy Lee will stay, which would be good news for everybody. Hopefully Ryan Morgans, the performance coacj is still in post, since he clearly made a huge didference to fitness levels

I really think it's a bit too soon to be talking about resignation. Give the guy a chance.

FdB both worries and excites. for all the talk of Transforming us in to a possession based outfit, we've been there - Holloway tried it and Pardew tried it - and ended up with the worst run of results ending in the demise of The manager. the players we have/had were simply not up to it. but that could also be because it was thrust onto them too quickly. If he is going down this Path, then I hope we will not see the fruits of his labour for a while yet!
