b******s at the BBC have completely musqouted and run with a fake news story.

At no stage did FDB say "I am excited to join a club [that will allow me] to spend a lot of money"

FDB was talking about the availability if money in the Premier League.

This is gutter stuff and what you would expect from the vulgar red tops.

What he actually said was "they spend a lot of money and there is the possibility to do something well with that money", which I'd agree is not quite the same as the headline suggests. But he does go on to say "we will look at one or two signings", which doesn't suggest a spending spree. It not too important what interpretation a copywriter puts on it as we all know what he meant.

Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing!

Allardyce said the same and he went on to sign 4 players.

I think that your reaction is somewhat OTT as the BBC's headline could have been construed as tongue in cheek and not something worthy of a rant

I took it to mean that we are planning to invest properly over time, in infrastructure and technology as well as players, but not necessarily that we had £100m to splurge with right now.

I watched the presser live.

The thing that struck me most is that Parish is no longer the best dressed man at the club.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

I was not totally convinced he is an out and out leader and felt Steve looked far more comfortable in front of the press.

We need a capable manager not an after dinner speaker and if FDB isn't at his best performing in front of the world's media it isn't the end of the world

Hope Steve doesn't read this !

I thought that, as ever, he looked rather dapper.
Suave aplomb and to quote an old friend of mine, "He cut a magnificent dash"

His first job is to buy a decent centre half - Sakho or someone as good but cheaper hopefully!). We need that to have a sporting chance.

Yes I agree.
Looking at the home market, Harry Maguire might have been a decent signing.Only 24 years of age - went to Leicester for £12 Mill rising to £17 Mill.

Great signings though I thought. If FdB can make 4 good signings to stack on top of Sam's I'd be chuffed.

Too much analysis going on of what FdB said.
Although he speaks good English he is by no means fluent yet.
It is wrong to interpret the detail of his words.
I thought the gist of what he and SP said was very positive.
