Gossip saying £20 million to Bournemouth , makes Sakho look even more of a bargain.

It's statements like this. When fans don't grasp football. While Sakho may be valued at 30m. It's the package that comes with Sakho, yes his a leader but at 27, there's no sell on value, also demand at least 120k a week. Whereas Akč for example maybe valued at 20m, aged 22 has a sell on value, also play in numerous positions and won't demand wages anywhere near 120k a week salary that been muted for Sakho.

Andy Johnson Magic, He wears a Magic Hat
When he Sees the match ball, he says he having that
He scores one with left foot, he scores one with his right
And When his playing Brighton, He scores all f***ING Night!

I am going based on the impact he had on the team.
If Sakho signed and plays like he can for us for two or three seasons we are less likely to be relegated than we would be with Ake who is potential.
Stay up for two more seasons you will not be too worried about sell on value, and more money in the bank to buy and a better status to attract more players.

Ake spent time on 'Loan' at Bournemouth last season so they know all about him.

A most 'unnecessary' post as a 'well informed' 'friend' who works on the 'TV' told me this.

Football a business, like it or not. There's already a thought between the owners to cut the spending this year. Especially after pumping extra investment in January. When was the last time a team outside the top 7. Spent 30m on a centre back. I'm not denying that Sakho would be a fantastic signing but there has to be some realism. Too many fans in fiffa/football manager mode.

Nah too old for that, just wishful thinking on my part.
Still sounds good business to stay up, Walker 45 mill , Van Dick 70 mill , MacGuire 17 mill etc, etc

Football as a business will bite you on the arse. Ake played his best stuff as a lb for Bournemouth. Didn't get a look in at Chelsea til the title was won and they started shipping goals. Would not throw 20m at Chelsea for him. And doubt he'll be looking for peanuts either.

Every transfer is a business decision. Nathan Akč knows the Dutch way of football. FDB philosophy. Akč played 2 games at Chelsea. The ffp will dictate a lot of our transfer this summer. It's already thought that FDB will target 21 to 24 year olds. So Akč fits this criteria, whereas Sakho doesn't. Also Sakho was signed by big Sam, not by the new manager. New managers have new plans.

The problem is the supposed budget is about 35 to 40m . When most fans agree that we need to bring in at least 4 to 6 players. Maybe 2 of which are loans. Even if we got Sakho for 22m, that doesn't leave a lot to bolster the rest of the squad.

I know , as I said just wishful thinking on my part.
Frustrating though , I think we are suffering a lot of wasteful signings in the first season and some Pardew buys.

How do you know it's 20m upfront. It's probably 12m rising to 20m. I think it's a big shame that we missed out on Hughes from derby joined Watford for 8m.

Also there's little money coming in this summer, unless we offload mcarthur or dann, or Cabaye wants to leave. Last summer we bought in 28m for yannick, 10 for Gayle and 5m for jedinak. Also losing one of dann, mcarthur or dann. Will also need replacing. I think it will be a difficult window, but have trust in parish to get it right.
