For the umpteenth time, Southampton have been looking since at least the last matchday and probably longer. They announced that they were "probably" going to get rid of Puel, and proceeded to treat him with the most disgusting disrespect until they finally decided what they were going to do. They didn't pull the plug until they were confident of getting a replacement. We on the other hand were put in the deep end with no notice.

And I suspect they'll be doing this again before we are.

I think they will as well. The only reason I've read they chose Pellegrino was because he's Argentinian, same as Pochettino. Clubs sometimes eventually go silly and this may be it. Frank was more what they require and they chose Pellegrino's recent similar tactics to Puel.

It's more interesting that Southampton have managed to identify and sign a new manager in a week. A month has now gone past in SE25 and we are looking to bring in somebody we are rumoured to have interviewed 2 weeks ago.

Southampton had actually been secretly looking before the season ended.

I know but I didn't want to ask why SP had leaked this "story"

I would prefer that we retained the moral high ground and didn't resort to our management rubbishing people

Neil Ashton is one of the very few at that paper who has credibility. His reporting on NBC's coverage has been quite good and relatively hype free.

All Neil is doing is pointing out that FDB Is interested in developing the team. Pelegríno less so. Neil is well connected within Palace. Not just with Parish.

We should be happy if we've got a guy who wants to build something.

Did you actually read the article as it was nothing of the kind?

It's been very much an open secret down here that Southampton have been looking since March.
