As I have said before, we Conservatives had an awful manifesto and ran an awful campaign and this cost us an overall majority. As a Conservative member I cannot be more honest than this. When David Cameron resigned there weren't many who thought that Theresa May would lead the party and be the next PM.My goodness she had had a lot to deal with, from the terrorist attacks to the election disappointment and now this awful tragedy and there is of course the matter of the detailed and complex Brexit negotiations. My goodness what a testing time. Edited by Willo (18 Jun 2017 4.59pm)

It's a massive achievement, regardless of the pitfalls.

So Teri or not? Teri, or not Teri? That is the question. As long as it's a Tory and not one of the Labour muppets, I'm not bothered.

She is done it's just a matter of how long. She won't be the leader at the next election but the question is who do you put in? Gove? That vacuous lizard? Boris Johnson. A joke of a politician and a nasty bloke and completely epitomises posh Tory w***er. Hammond? Who? Amber Rudd? Seats too marginal and she did poorly in the spotlight. Only one that has a half decent chance of not being an electoral disaster is Ruth Davidson and she won't abandon Scotland.

Only one that has a half decent chance of not being an electoral disaster is Ruth Davidson and she won't abandon Scotland. Don't agree. She was set upon by 5 left of centre politicians (It was 5 v 2), it was badly chaired by Mishal Husain and as for the audience one can only ponder as to the criteria by which they were selected. Furthermore, Amber Rudd was having to cope having lost her father 48 hrs before the broadcast and bravely decided to go ahead. At the end of the day, the only reason we are in this position is due to a poor manifesto and a campaign to match.Won't happen again. Edited by Willo (18 Jun 2017 6.29pm)

Throw your hat into the ring when the time comes Willo. You won't be any worse than the options that will be on offer.
