Got to look at the players.

They're just not good enough. It's not their fault. Just have to accept it.

They are though. Players like Kane and Ali are tearing up international defenders week in week out. Add in the likes of Sterling, Barkley, Rashford...it's an exciting young team.

Just do what Spain did many years ago.Bring on the youth (ie U20's)this will mean a few disastorous tournaments along the way (no change there then)but they can grow together collectively.
The major stumbling block to this , is the lack of game time these players get with their clubs because they are predominantly signed by "big clubs". Unfortunately with the Premier League forever recruiting foreign players, this will always be to the detriment of our national team.
One thought on last night...do we really not have a natural left back who could have played? Walker certainly isn't.

England are just sh*te I'm afraid. As I posted on the recent 'Wilf' thread, I wouldn't watch England these days if you gave me free beer and dancing girls. Apologies for the repetition therefore.

I would, but I'd really be pretending to watch.

England are s**t, but free beer and dancing girls, is definitely something I could get behind, for the price of pretending to give a s**t about England.

Grrrrrr.

Yet it has provided the opportunities for everything you have.

Incredible isn't it? I think I've only just realised what garbage he is. There's no excuse for getting such s*** performances out of such accomplished players but his tactics are bollocks, his selections are questionable and of experience he has, as you say, bugger all.

And look who they sacked for pretty much nothing.

Big Sam must be satisfied he proved his point. Beat a bunch of the top sides with palace in a few weeks and England rely on a last minute goal to draw with Scotland and get beaten by 10 man France.

Players weren't exactly exerting themselves at any point during that friendly last night.
Some of the team looked out of position (Alli?) played far to slowly especially when France went down to 10.
Midfield failed to create, defence far to slow and cumbersome who selected that trio?
Sorry got to do better than that Southgate.

I bet Sam had a bloody good laugh from his villa!!

Given Southgate's record in football management, do the players have any respect for him ?

Yes, but if they hadn't, we would probably be playing in the championship next season!

Well, Jurgen Klinsmann is available now that he has no chance of getting a job anywhere else.

If they want a real joke appointment I believe McCoist is available.

this. i don't know why no one else advocates this. they've made poor appointment after poor appointment, and sacking allardyce should have been the final nail in their coffin when they replaced him with southgate.
