Thanks for that. NEVER seen his 'Wikepedia' page. Just recall hearing about this and recalled it as it was a significant feat.Cannot remember who he scored against. Goes back to the days when I was a member of a team in a very challenging 'Home Counties' football quiz league and this is the sort of question which could be asked hence my recollection of the fact. NOT surprised that it is on his Wikipedia page at all.

Of course you remembered it Willo of course you did. Just wish you would remember to be a bit more honest occasionally... and there's perhaps 99% of us who believe you cut, paste and tinker articles as if they have fallen out of your head. There is a thread on at the moment where you have been caught red handed!! The way you supply information is quite interesting sometimes but integrity lets you down. Instead of saying '...I found this...' You tell bare faced lies along the lines of "...if my memory serves me rightly..." Have you tried being a bit more honest?

Absolutely remembered it for obvious reasons. What I cannot remember is the precise date and the other team involved. I used to be involved in a challenging football quiz league a few years back and these are the sort of questions that were asked.Smalling's feat was quite momentous in terms of him being the first substiture to score twice in a PL game, hence it stuck in my 'Memory bank' - suppose I still haven't shaken off my quiz mode ! Finally, like everyone I have my faults but to call me a bare-faced liar is not only wholly inaccurate is totally reprehensible.

So I am accused of being a "Bare faced liar". Shame on you for such an inaccurate and reprehensible insult. NOTHING could be further from the truth. At least I debate without the need to dish out personal and wholly inaccurate insults.

I was in the Quiz league where 'Crystal Palace' competed but I never played for them.Got involved with other teams as my friend who introduced me to the league was with another team.Understand the league has now disbanded. Maybe there is someone on here who used to participate in the league. All the questions and answers related to the latest edition of the 'Rothmans Yearbook' which later became the'Sky Yearbook'.Apart from C.Palace, there was Blackpool, Chelsea, Burnley, Tottenham,Sheff Wed, Wimbledon etc etc. Edited by Willo (12 Jun 2017 1.27pm)

us being linked to Smalling and Sakho not yet being sold for the 30 mil mark, and us getting in that French manager perhaps, this time in two weeks Liverpool may reduce the amount needed and the French manager, name yet to be remembered, may be interested. and smalling was a red herring all along perhaps. how often do we buy players from man utd anyway? Besides Wilf..

I thought he was struggling to hold a first team slot at Maidstone Utd? He had really s**t hair back then too.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

Think he'd be a fraction of the cost of Sakho. If he could be obtained for say £15m rather than Sakhos £30m price tag I think he'd be the better option. Think Sakho at £30m is dead in the water.
