Fat Sam, Pardew and Pulis each in their own way were marquee signings, sadly only one left with any credibility and even he left us feeling p!ssed off.
Cynic or realist? It's a fine line! |

I still think Iain Dowie deserves the honour he never gets at this forum.

To be honest, I remember being really proud when Uncle Ron appointed Sir Steve Coppell for the first time, he was such a great little player and really famous having strutted his stuff for Man. United AND England!! But then again, I would've been chuffed if Jimmy Krankie had got the job after having Alan F***king Mullery!!

My choices would be Allison, Venables and allardyce. Allison for pure flamboyance, the cup run and signing Venables though not for getting rid of Rogers in order to do it! Venables who was forced into selling Peter Taylor but bought Harkouk had a good year in 77-78 and then got promoted in 78-79 following that famous match against Burnley which meant we also finished above Brighton! I also have to include Allardyce who grabbed Palace by the nadgers both on and off the field, changing the off-field management, players regimes and fitness levels.

My choice would of been pulis pardew allardyce was really happy when pulis got the job until he walked out on us for reasons he will only know was even more thrilled when pardew got the job him coming from Newcastle as well but think he should of be sacked after the cup final and really happy when allardyce got the job thought he would of taken us to the next level now hope whoever gets the managers job now can make us a top 10 side every season and stays a bit longer than a year we need stability now not keep changing the manager every year cause its getting a joke that's what I want and hope he gets a reasonably transfer budget

At the time Big Mal's arrival was front page news, the Team of the Eighties were his legacy, he basically lied to the parents of the finest youth talent around at the time ,promises of cars ,cash ,none of which to my knowledge Appeared. Venables inherited the team and then through his greed threw it away , his second spell was a disaster , taking advantage of Goldberg . Sir Steve's appointment was under the radar and proved to be our most successful period . So, yes Big Mal

Ian Holloway. With his experience in getting Blackpool to the prem, thought we had a safe pair of hands to guide us up. Was abit rocky towards the end of the season, but bringing in super Kev was inspired and his tactical nous in the playoffs, led us to where we are now. We went up by the skin of our teeth. All tbe good work Freedman did was almost undone. His scatter gun approach to signings with a chairman who knew no better showed him up to be the charlatan he is. Was like a dog with two dicks in the transfer market.
