Tried harder to do what?

I'm perfectly happy to have bluders such as my one about the Ship of Theseus pointed out, it teaches me a valuable lesson about posting when pi**ed.

Actually am reminded of an absolute cretin I once had for a boss who spent a morning going through a pile of documents I had written and "correcting" every instance of etc. to read 'ect'. He then threatened to discipline me for dissent when I told him his spelling was bollocks. I pointed out that 'et' was latin for 'and' and he said he knew nothing of Latin and I should be thinking about my English. T**t.

And don't get me started on the idiot civil servant who in spite of my express written advice insisted on printing a million forms in which "dependent" and "dependant" were used interchangeably (the former is an adjective and the latter a noun). Sadly for him, the users of these forms were well educated for the most part, and his arse was kicked all round England.

Sincerely from everyone else who doesn't give a sh*t about spelling but actually wants to talk about Palace,

F*ck off and get a life.

Off you go to Palace Talk then, and leave General (non-Palace to the rest of us

What I love about you Willo is the way you have adopted the 'new man' philosophy so successfully.

Hmm, you seem to have been a bit grumpy last night, on the source were you?

If only someone could devise an automatic system that could advise posters when their grammar or spelling may be faulty.

I too come on this site to learn new things. If someone clearly has a problem with spelling I ignore it, it is totally unfair to pick on people.

I can't resist a gentle tease when people alter the meaning of their thread through poor attention to detail.

I have to say poor spelling and grammar does great on me a bit.

But we all lead busy lives.. I certainly do and sometimes it's not due to the fact that one can't spell. It's down to writing quick replies on message boards like this because your using the s***ter in work for two minutes.

I'll use correct grammar when composing a letter for example and not for any online forum or Fb etc.

I know nothing about this "New man philosophy". Think it was just me being grumpy.

As my wife has said more than once "You dont like this you don't like that, you don't even like your bloody self".

This 100%

I do all of my hol-ing on my phone either on the crapper or on the tube when I get wifi at each stop. An example being this thread which I wrote on the last tube home half cut, and this comment which I'm writing whilst having a sh*t. Either way I stand by my original point, the grammar nazis need to get a life.

It's easily done when posting here using a phone which has auto correct.

There is certainly an undercurrent of one upmanship and belittling of other posters from a handful of members though. Quite pathetic in all honesty.

Perhaps it's the unemployed ones who have time to sign into hol from a home or library PC and write correctly.

Then pulling us workers up who frantically write back quick grammatically incorrect responses.

Get a job you losers

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham
