I wouldn't be as harsh as the OP, but whatever the real reasons were, he could have given us a few weeks to see a transition through. I'm going to reserve any further judgment until I see what he's doing in January. I don't understand the idea of this transition period - it just prolongs the start of a search for a new manager. The sooner he went the sooner we could move the club on and focus on the future. The players are on holiday now so there's no need for him to hang around like a bad smell. If he heart is not in it then he should leave straight away, which is exactly what happened?

I seem to be alone in wondering whether that article in the Sun represented a great co-incidence otherwise why didn't Sam make reference to a personal tragedy in his resignation statement You are unbelievable, why should he broadcast he to the world, what obviously is a personal matter with his family and the poor lady that was killed.

Not quite sure how you think an article in a newspaper is not broadcasting it, otherwise why write an article at all.

Broadcast to the world minus the whole of Liverpool, and anyone else who doesn't read tabloid propaganda! The sun is pretty much the inventor of "Fake News", this should be treated as such until verified by a credible source. The fact that this has only come from the SUN (which the Star and Mirror have since copied) makes me want to ignore it completely.

Ok. We know the Sun is not always the bastion of truth but we have to think that on a matter like this - for god's sake it was a terror attack - they are not going to make it up! I really worry about some of the posters on here these days. Where is your sense of propriety and shame?

I see from your profile that you describe yourself as a journalist yet you state that the very same Sun that claimed that Liverpool fans urinated on police, pick-pocketed dead victims and prevented brave PCs giving the kiss of life to some of the victims at Hillsborough wouldn't make up stuff I really worry about some of the posters on here these days

I don't think they have a reason to make this up. And if it is false we'll find out soon enough. You want to believe it is fake news for your agenda. Shame.

I don't believe it to be fake news but I was merely pointing out the stupidity of your comment that the Sun wouldn't make up news in serious matters but you probably already knew that because as a journalist you are used to twisting people's words around to suit your story

Link for anyone who's not read the sun. Clears up a lot. Respect to Sam, family first nothing wrong with that.
