I couldn't think of anyone better than Allardyce to lead on all these deals.

I think Cabaye going might be difficult to get over seeing as we'll have to replace him and we have the number 10 issue and CB area to solve. Too many changes through the spine isn't what we need. If I had a choice I'd sell Benteke for ridiculous money to China and go with 2 strikers Sam has his eye on. One of them hopefully being a number 10 and a bit of a striker. But what do we know? Sam might know who's going in the case of Cabaye and already have players being watched/contacted via agents. Can simply relax having a meticulous professional as manager who's been doing this sh1t successfully at this level for nearly 20 years is it now? Sam is the biggest signing we need to extend this season.

We've discussed this before. This was my view a couple of weeks ago and I've not changed it. Out of our current squad, who are nailed-on for the starting XI? I'd suggest: Tomkins There or thereabouts: Hennessey In bold are those positions could do with an upgrade. The others need some competition. Can't see any future for: Mutch Souare - impossible to say what will happen

Cuckers, I fully agree. Problem is when you get down to the starters and the thereabouts that's only 15. This issue of going for 2nd and 3rd raters has to stop.

But if we can cut down on what is a long list of 'no futures', that at least would be progress. And we will definitely need another striker.

I agree but would want Cabaye to stay Originally posted by Palace 1979
I am already starting to look ahead, and looking at the squad I can see quite a big clear out this year. I think we will see the following leave: Mandanda (at least we got him for free) and the one I hope does not happen... Could be a few surprise sales such as Benteke(China) and Townsend(Geordies big offer), but hoping these won't happen. What do you think ??

I'd love Damo to retire from playing and join the backroom staff...

It's simply not good enough to have no goal threat from that position. Imagine how many more points we'd have if, for example, Sigurdsson played there instead of Puncheon....... competely agree, Punch is just not a No10 and at times is our deepest midfielder. Playing 4-3-3 this position is crucial and has been lacking all season and most of last season too if we're honest. Benteke has been too isolated at times. I think Cabeye is on his way - his waving as he was substituted was a strong indicator that he is on his way back to France. Edited by palace99 (14 May 2017 8.27pm)

Add Mutch to the list. Thought he was decent when we signed him but hasn't worked out. I'd have said Kelly a few months ago when he was playiing at full back but he's looked much better as centre half. Happy to be proved wrong on that one. Wilf should, and probably will be, offered a massive contract. If he leaves it should be for £40mn minimum on the grounds that he's better, younger, fitter and more lived than Bolasie was at £30mn. How the hell did I forget him. he should be top of the list! From other comments, I fully trust Sam's ability in the market and the days of desperate last minute panic buys are long gone. He is a shrewd operator and I can only see the squad getting stronger every year he stays. My only worry for next year are holding on to Zaha, Cabaye and Benteke. 3 very important players for us this season.
