I disagree. It's merely a succinct way of starting a discussion on a topic many will have their own thoughts about, which is the whole point of a message board. It's true that it could well be Wilf's last home game for Palace, but then the same could be said about a few other players. If Wilf himself feels it will be his final home match at Selhurst (which I hope it isn't!), it might become more evident by the end of the game, particularly if he gets substituted in the last minute. He will want to finish on a high note if that is the case, and it will be interesting to see how he reacts to the crowd after the final whistle. I'm sure people will read different things into his body language though and speculate about his future all through the summer. What is certain is that he is a Palace player at this moment in time and will be available for one of the biggest games in the club's recent history. If it turns out to be Wilf's or anyone else's Palace swansong - or even if it doesn't - let's hope they give us one more great memory by having the game of their lives. It's entirely the club's decision whether he leaves or not as he still has a few years to go on his contract. EXACTLY you hit the nail on the head!
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Given that the transfer window doesn't close until the season has started it is possible that even if Wilf goes he could play a game or two for us next season before a transfer is finalised. Didn't Bolasie play in the first match of the season against West Brom? Or am I dreaming?

Yes the implications of the next two lots of fixtures will have an impact on his football career, but don't get it twisted with the palace v hull or this weekends fixture threads (just because that's at the forefront of everyone's minds does not mean it should dominate a new topic). In answer to the OP, yes it could be wilfs last home game however, if we stay up I think he will stay. The lad is apparently a very nervous character off the pitch, he will not want to get burnt by another club once again if he can push us on to be a top 8 club...not just yet anyway. Edited by rawpalace05 (13 May 2017 10.58am) Cheers RP glad you could see the thread as it was supposed to be, a relevant topic for discussion about a subject that is important to us as Palace fans.
