What evidence is there for any tensions?

That may be true "as far as you are concerned" but the future of the club is in the hands of the shareholders and not you

The members of CPFC 2010 still have a substantial interest and Parish can block anything he deems bad. He is at the helm. As long as that continues then I don't think it matters where the investment comes from.

Let's slow down here. Both Blitzer and Harris believe in "staying with the plan," as their ownership of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers shows. They deliberately traded away their high priced veterans and allowed the team to lose in order to get higher draft picks. Of course, there is no such thing as a entry player draft in English football (or anywhere other than American pro sports, which are franchises rather than clubs). The problem they have had is many of their so-called blue chip draftees promptly get hurt and don't play. I believe they are in it for the long haul and that relegation may convince them to direct their investment towards player acquisition. It does seem obvious that they did put pressure Parish to sack Pardew and probably wanted it to happen sooner than it did.

At the pre-season match in Philly this past summer both Parish and Harris came to the Palace supporters at half time. It appeared clear back then that Harris believes in Parish's chairmanship as both he and his partner are very unfamiliar how ownership of a football club in England works. They are also quite anxious to strengthen both the physical infrastructure of the club, particularly Selhurst Park, as well as player development. Harris told me and several others that he couldn't understand how John Henry and FSG could get improvements to Anfield approved as easily as they did but Palace have to struggle, particularly the Main Stand which does not border on housing. Here is where the two Americans may take some of the decision making away from Parish and take over negotiations with the Council, Sainsbury's and the other players involved.

I understand the hesitancy many over there in England have for American ownership, particularly with what happened with the Glazers and Kroenke. I believe that Harris and Blitzer are more like John Henry and want to respect the spirit and traditions of their club while moving them forward both on the pitch and off. When Henry and his group bought the Boston Red Sox in 2002, the focus was to build a new stadium to replace historic Fenway Park. They decided to spend a year looking at their options and decided to a gradual rebuilding of Fenway and that has succeeded beyond all expectation. They have done the same at Liverpool, choosing to gradually rebuild Anfield rather than try to build new in Stanley Park. It is on the pitch where they haven't matched their record with the Red Sox, which won their first World Series title in 86 years back in 2004 and two more since. Harris also believes, as Parish does, that there is tremendous potential at Crystal Palace that needs to be tapped.

I choose to be cautiously optimistic about the future of the club both on and off the pitch. There will be changes that not everyone will approve of. At present, ownership is committed to staying at Selhurst Park and gradually improving the facility. Certainly the Main Stand must be rebuilt. Then the Arthur Wait needs work. A possible way forward is to offer Sainsbury's the opportunity to rebuild its store as part of a complete Selhurst Park complex plan that would combine football facilities with shopping. It seems obvious to me that some outside the box thinking is required here.

Excellent post, thanks.

Fvcking hope so. They have brought nothing to the table in a year and a half save for making the previous owners quids in on their initial investment. The £50mill seems to be hiding under a very lost mattress somewhere if it hasn't been spent already (i reckon it has).

If we go down then we will have our very own Venkys. Hoo-rah.

I am being harsh but just fed up with the club stalling on many fronts considering the amount of dosh since 2012 and more to come.

Fair enough, but if you're alluding to the training ground and stadium, it seems like we're in a very difficult situation with Sainsbury's not of the owners making, probably in addition to the council and locals who will need to be tided over. There are murmurs the training ground is on its way, but again being in a densely populated urban area its always gonna be a pain to improve that sort of thing.

Fairly significant investment in the playing squad and getting Sam and his staff in though....

You'd have a point if they promised £50 mil and didn't actually hand it over, but they have. So SP has either spent it because it was needed orbits sitting in the bank ready to be spent.

Really quite logical and you're insulting your own intelligence by criticising silent partners.

I think people are being unnecessarily harsh on Harris and Blitzer. Yes they've made mistakes, but they're learning from them and improving on their touch with the club. For instance, they tried those stupid lights shows which we all thought was tacky, but they listened, and they changed it back. They might not understand the English game yet, let alone our club, but I think with the potential our squad has and the guidance of Steve Parish, who may screw up as well, but definitely has the club's best interests at heart, they could become some of the best influential figures we've ever had this club.

After all, it was them who wanted Pardew sacked after Swansea, may I remind you!

Good post, but the final paragraph holds no weight to its argument until we're safe.

I think you are being fairly harsh. Training ground updated-still looking for a suitable site, there are various problems with planning over ground upgrades apart from mandatory works (disabled seating requirements for one) and repairs. Bought in new manager and backroom staff late last year they haven't had that long but they are making a difference.
The squad is improving with every window. This summer will once again prove to be critical (can Palace really improve the squad in all positions in terms of strength and depth?)
Some promises and plans may have dropped down the list or been shelved but others have been achieved. I for one are very disappointed we are not higher up the table and therefore still scrapping in the relegation zone.
If we hadn't had to spend money on Pardews payoff together with the excess of £40m on players in January more might have been achieved off the to do list? Of course it was necessary given our dire situation but I am sure that money was budgeted somewhere else!

The Americans are majority shareholders in CPFC 2010 Ltd and as such can outvote Parish on any matter if they so wish
