Bottom line Puncheon is simply not good enough any more. Will only pass backwards or lose the ball is static and won't track back. Not sure what he brings to the party any more. Used to shoot and join in with the attack doesn't now. Once Cabaye is back should be out of the team. Captancy means little. Time to say so long and thanks.

Kelly has done well in recent games but today he had Schlupp alongside him who has never played at 'Centre-Half'. Kelly was just one of the many who had a poor game.

Spot on Willo

He's average at best, anyone who thinks he's remotely good should question their actual knowledge of football.

Like our managers?

The decision to make him captain seemed to work, but as far as his actual quality goes, he's a weak link in our team. We've needed a proper no. 10 for a while.

Fans seem to have a lot of patience and an affinity with Punch...perhaps justifiably for his services over recent seasons.
But I think if we do stay up, he is likely to be replaced in the starting XI next season. As other posters have said, an attacking midfielder needs to contribute more...be it goals assists or forward passes.

And the scapegoat this week is......

Think Sam has to hold his hand up, thought PVA should have been centre back today. Schlupp has never played there before

Our form has turned since he became captain, but I think that's down to Sakho and Luka (which has freed up Cabaye).
As a player, apart from the purple patch (about 8 games under Pullis ) I've always thought he was 2 bob. This year I'm not sure he's even been 1 bob.

I honestly can't remember him having a good game this season. All he seems to do is jog about the pitch missing tackles, misplacing passes and slowing down attacks. Absolutely awful.

McCarthur also off the boil so think we need a midfielder if we stay up. Someone like Sigurdsson from Swansea if they go down would be amazing.

I agree with some of what your saying that Puncheon has been poor this season but he's not been awful.
He does give the ball away far too much & since being captain hasn't really improved like others are mentioning.
It's a position we need to sort in the summer. Keep Punch as a back up to a new signing.

I was in the Man City end today and their supporters were commenting about how poor Puncheon was playing. (They were also liking Benteke and especially Zaha)

Today was a write off as soon as we played 4 full backs in defence. Delaney would have stopped that first goal today.
