Loadabollox. No decent player would sign for anyone ever if it were the case because there is more than one way they could miss six weeks of a season every two years. Apart from hazard of the job with injuries which can happen to any player, how else do they take 6 weeks off every 2 years? And in specifically January/February? Do they go travelling or take time out these days? Edited by Rudi Hedman (02 May 2017 10.42pm)

All adds up here and there. Plenty of ways. i bet there aren't many professional footballers out there who don't miss six weeks worth over two years due to whatnot. The African nations are not the worst. If you play for England in an international finals you have to change your name, grow a false beard and put on an Irish accent for six months afterwards.

Edited by Kermit8 (02 May 2017 11.06pm) Apart from birth of a child you might get half a week off for, they're all hazards of the job or decided by the club, and not specifically planned for a set time every 2 seasons. Those hazards all players can suffer. The AFCON is additional to those, not instead of. And in a way it's decided by the player in Zaha's case. Spurs don't have any players going to the AFCON and The Telegraph gets a lot of its rumour and speculation correct. That is a fact. There may well be some truth in this and Levy always wants maximum value. Someone who is expected to deliver as their most expensive signing and disappearing for 6 weeks every 2 seasons may not sit well with him. I doubt he'll sit there and think, 'Ah well, he could miss loads of the season because all of those reasons.' Look at how they get every ounce of effort out of Alli and Kane etc before raising their wages from 30% of what the should be to 42%.

Levy won't wanna pay up for Wilf - nor will he match what we're ready to pay him in wages. If Yala was £27 million then Zaha is £35 million minimum if you ask me. In fact maybe more as he's getting better. We have very little chance of buying anyone as good so we should refuse to sell and if he leaves on a free when his contract is up so be it. No offense to Bolasie, but Zaha is worth at least double. Wilf is younger, better and under contract until 2020. Someone is going to have to pay well over 50 mil to get him.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |

I work with one of Zaha's mates and he is pretty confident that Zaha will be staying with Palace for the foreseeable future. The money that Spurs were offering was not what Zaha was expecting.
There's a bloke down my road who walks round in a Tesco's carrier bag. Turns out he is a brighton faggot. |

That's what I expected. They pay pittance to Kane, Alli et al and con the fans they'll keep extending. Then that transfer offer comes in with a large salary and off they go.

Parish is no mug though and Dpurs would have to match our wage offer. They don't pay much more than Cabaye I think so it's not definite they'll offer Zaha mega money. Edit: Lloris £120k Eriksson, Dier etc £70k Edited by Rudi Hedman (03 May 2017 5.01pm)
