He never exhibited the leadership qualities of Cannon of Sahko either. I disagree. He played for Palace for 6 or 7 years and made more appearances for us than any other team he played for. Also weighed in with valauble goals.

I still think I'd go with Craig Moore - very comfortable with the ball at his feet (and we haven't had many of those at centre half)

Although not the best ever, Gary O'Reilly needs a mention for the F.A Cup Semi-Final and Final goals in 1990.

Another player who I thought was brilliant for us (albeit only on loan again) was Steve Vickers. I was gutted when Bruce took him to Birmingham.

Sign Sakho up but after only 9 games you cannot compare him to Jim Cannon.

Did he really play for us for that long? I do apologise for getting that so wrong. I had no idea. There's no doubt he had quality but I'm thinking not the highest. It's true to point out that Sahko shouldn't really come into the 'Palace greats' bracket because of the brevity of his time here but I would say that what he has shown since his arrival has been astonishing and I'm still in mourning for the hand that fate dealt him on Wednesday night.
