Implement a wage cap multiple of the minimum wage on Executive Pay. Increase Corporation Tax to something vaguely sensible for the Exchequer - e.g. 25%. Do away with Non-Dom tax status. Increase the size, expertise, pay and kudos given to the HMRC Corporation Tax Enforcement Team and turn them loose. High profile naming and shaming policies for big brands that avoid UK tax on their large UK operations. Remand any and all suspected white collar type criminals on basic regime along with everyone else in the overcrowded and dangerous Local Prison network (Houseblock C in Belmarsh, for example). Increase prison terms and allocate white collar convicts to closed, secure prisons rather than cushy Open jails like Ford. Shoot to Kill policy on motorway middle-lane-hoggers, with the costs of the resulting traffic management problems caused by their sudden demise at 60mph coming directly from their estate. Nationalise all train operators and Network Rail, but implement more performance related pay elements for everyone in the industry linked to relevant aspects of their job. Increase stamp duty and council tax on an upwardly sliding scale for each property purchased by an individual or holdco. Implemement enforceable rent caps linked to a multiple of the council tax in that area for the relevant property band. Ban "public vote at their own expense" model TV programmes......bring back New Faces with an expert panel. Replace ASBOs with Stocks in every high street or village square. Increase time spent in the stocks for repeat offenders. Ban all video-based advertising at all train stations and on the tube. Edited by Mr_Gristle (23 Apr 2017 9.32am)

That makes sense. I think it's a big elephant in the room personally Businesses struggle because we tax them too much and people aren't spending enough So tax them less and make them give staff a pay rise Plus taxpayer will pay less in tax credits It's win win - people earn more, business gets a boost

Would your proposed tax breaks be greater than the cost of paying people £10 per hour or equivalent?

Corporation tax breaks from a 25% basis for specific national goals (for example, 85% of staff are UK nationals, paying the lowest earning staff 50% above minimum wage, investing in genuine staff training such as an intake of apprentices). Complete reform of the income tax and earnings, so that everyone pays exactly the same percentage based on earnings from all sources. Legalisation of all recreational drugs, with a mandatory life sentence for all those who deal in illegal drugs. Taxation raised to be used to fund drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and support the NHS Decriminalisation of prostitution, with a mandatory life sentence for those convicted of illegal pimping, pandering or sex trafficking. Money raised to be used on programs aimed at helping sex workers to establish alternative careers (and support the NHS). No sex offenders will be released after a second offence. No sex offender will be released without completing sex offender programs. Those who fail to complete programs or show poor progress will be imprisoned indefinitely. Resettling of people in areas of high unemployment to areas with job shortage (to replace the EU Freedom of Movement demand). Limitation on the ownership of more than two residential properties. Excess properties must be part of a registered limited company - as capital gains assets. Set requirements for landlords, including professional qualification and penalties for failing to fulfil regulatory specifications. Rents will be fixed by local authorities. All transport to and accommodation for work will be automatically tax deductible from PAYE for anyone earning less than 20k. Companies employing graduates from a graduate program will be required to pay off those graduates tuition fees over the period of their graduate program. Companies sponsoring tuition for students, will receive compensatory tax breaks and reduced corporation tax. Property seized as proceeds of crime will be immediately registered as public housing stock. Free local public transport, and train travel under 10 miles. Reasonable review of the UKs nuclear deterrent to establishing a reasonable solution for the future (with the likely view of replacing trident with a missile based system). Prison parole and release to be based on the success of criminals achieving set targets - such as learning to read, completing anger management, obtaining educational targets, successfully engaging in drug and alcohol programs, completing an apprenticeship - With a prospect of earning release. Criminal records for some offences can be suspended should the offender achieve the above. After a period of non-offending they will be quashed. Promotion of welfare to work programs with the state paying additional benefits to participants who achieve full time employment. Full and unlimited access to abortion and contraception. A right to accommodation to all citizens, whether this is a room in a shared house, a bedsit through to housing for families.
