He's an odious t***.

Hopefully he'll disappear off the face of the earth and take Piers Morgan with him.

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

We can dream!

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Kelvin Mack is no angel that's for sure but I didn't know Ross Barclay was mixed race either. One black grandparent isn't that obvious and only now knowing that do you convince yourself there is a hint of black ancestry, but even then it's still so subtle.

He was using stereotypes being rude to scousers, that's for sure. He's excused for that, although it's the fans from the other club in the city who I dislike.

He was stupid for going after Scousers anyway but some of the fault has to fall on his editorial team. Because there is evidence from just a few days before that the Sun did know that he was mixed race - there's more than one article showing that he qualified for Nigeria. So someone really should have twigged.

Do I think McKenzie was being racist? No. Was he being stupid? Absolutely. Given the implications of calling someone a gorilla, someone really really really should have double checked.

Glad he's been sacked anyway. He's a to$$er

The reference to the gorilla was only in relation to the vacant expression in his eyes and if you look at the photo of Barkley that accompanied the article in the link you can see what McKenzie was talking about

McKenzie is 70yrs old and probably not bothered. Would think he is quite well off.

D'you know, I thought exactly the same thing. Although I despise McKenzie and would happily put him in a macerator along with Piers Morgan, Janet Street Porter and Garry Bushell, his comments here have been taken completely out of context. If anything, it's an insult to gorillas.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I'm aware - hence I said I don't think he was being racist. But there are risks in suggesting someone has more in common with an ape than a human being. And given his editorial team were clearly aware that Barkley had Nigerian relatives, someone let McKenzie down at the very least.

Does this mean we can't refer to the Bermondsey scum as "knuckle-draggers"?

Somebody tip off HMRC to take that smirk of his face.
