Marilyn Monroe may well have been the victim of a murder plot by the CIA, but whether it was a lethal injection of drugs that killed her as Mr Hodges claims is open to question. Hodges, a self-described CIA assassin, says he entered Marilyn’s room at her home while she was sleeping and injected her with a fatal dose of Chloral Hydrate, a powerful sedative, mixed with Nembutal, a short-acting barbiturate. An injection of this type is sometimes referred to as a ‘hot shot’. Former LA County Deputy District Attorney John Miner was an investigator into Marilyn’s death in August 1962. Before he died in 2010, he took part in a TV documentary in which various theories about what happened were examined. While the official verdict at the time was a ‘probable suicide’, the conclusion reached in the documentary was that Marilyn’s death had likely been nothing more than a tragic accident. Miner himself however maintained she had been murdered by an unknown perpetrator, though not as a result of a hot shot injection. Instead, he believed the lethal dose had been administered by some other means… One segment of the 2003 documentary can be found here, with the relevant part about the hot shot and other theories beginning at 3:16: The autopsy appears to discount a lethal injection of drugs as being the cause of death. As Miner explains, “We looked all over her body, between her toes, between her fingers, all of the orifices…there were no needle marks in her body. It would have to be a very large bore needle, an 18 gauge (1.27mm diameter) needle at the minimum. That would leave a wound tract that a blind pathologist could see.” In addition, a hot shot would have killed Marilyn in an instant, but further evidence from her post-mortem suggests she would have survived for a length of time after the drugs had entered her system. While this neither proves nor disproves the theory that Marilyn Monroe was murdered, the findings from her autopsy along with the statement from John Miner cast doubt on the truth of Hodges’ claims. And if there is any reason to question his version of events, I would take any of his other assertions with a massive pinch of salt as well until more concrete evidence arises.

Too much p***.ub watched by this one methinks. Highly suitable content for a public forum. Will the hol have to be over 18s from now on?

Interesting that Gusset chose not to comment upon this post with his moral prudish hat on or is Necrophilia regarded as "De Rigeur" these days by the left? It all smacks of Gusset once again being two faced and not being able to cope with my superior intellect and humour.

Its unlikely she was murdered. She'd likely have gone 'off the roof or from a window'. Its unlikely the CIA would 'send one of their own' to kill a US citizen as well (given they're not allowed to operate within the US, but would likely have a third party arrange it through a proxy - if they were going to do that kind of thing). Its one of those celebrity conspiracies, based on questions that cannot now be answered, that ignores the reality that she was an incredibly troubled person.

Maybe or maybe not, but you think that Kennedy was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald alone. Not a chance.

I think he was probably the only shooter there on the day, but others may well have been involved. The evidence for other conspiracy theories isn't really all that compelling, other than as a critique of elements of the 'established story'.

Part of a conspiracy is to cover up the evidence and keep those who know silent. Evidence is never likely to be compelling. That's the idea.
