Pardew is literally Palace, couldn't possibly hate him. He is so typically Palace, win where we should lose, lose when we should win.... drag defeat from the jaws of victory and vice versa....

Can you whiners/smug tw@ts just do one! FFS! He's gone! Get over it! Move on, we have had worse managers than Pardew.

I am sure Pardew loved the club, but I was surprised that he seldom, if ever, wore a Palace tie when giving media interviews

It's perhaps a trivial thing but I thought it was disrespectful to club and fans.

I wasn't impressed with certain of his signings (e.g. Mutch and Adebayor) which reflected a casual attitude to the club's money.

The way he stripped Jedinak of the captaincy grated as did his foolishness in releasing proven goalkeepers such as Gayle and Murray.

His tactics were rigid and predictable, and his sloppy gambler's approach to game-management cost us precious points both last season and this season.

His track record as a manager is not all that great, and I am not surprised that other clubs have so far been wary of giving him an opportunity to return to management.

We cannot erase history but to keep dwelling on the past can be somewhat boring and perhaps irrelevant depending on circumstances.

Pardew was once revered as he took us up the table and to the FA cup final but then he was vilified. Such is the life of a football manager.

I wouldn't say Gayle and Murray are exactly proven goalkeepers, but maybe someday

As a player could not understand how he got picked every week, used to call him pillock pardew. As a manager he convinced Cabaye, Townsend and Benteke to come to Palace not an easy task. He must have something that makes people believe in him. His downfall was trying to make a silk purse from a pigs ear overnight.
Not the best player or manager we have ever had, but by a country mile not one oof the worst.
GratefulL for the good things he has done for the Palace, time to move on.

I'm sure that Pardew will be back in management in the not too distant future.

I'm still surprised by the amount of savage bitterness that surrounds Pardew. We had similar for Pulis. (Rather less for Olly, who was probably the least competent, if most likeable). But they ALL did a great job for us in pulling us spectacularly out of the relegation mire, giving us another chance the following season. And both Pulis and Pardew bought some very good players to add to the squad. Sam's at last getting these great players to play impressively at the top of their game - look at the joy the players now share - and massive credit to him. Yes, Pardew was unable to turn that into sustained points (and had similar problems elsewhere), but let's remember the euphoria of our miracle recovery when he joined and lay the bile to rest.

I wish he had done better - it was all there for him to achieve - everything in place - management and fans wanting him to do well, investment available - how could he not achieve?
Arrogance is the answer!
He thought he was better than he was; he never learnt from his mistakes and continued to make the same ones time and time again; he belittled the American Investors publicly when clearly then know more about football than he does and he just assumed he would not get the sack.
He had to do - should have gone way sooner than he did - and Mr Allardyce is proving how attention to detail and hard work pays off.
Add to that we have a team again - a group of players playing for each other and who appear to be smiling again.
I was never Sam's biggest fan but he is the man for us whilst Pardew is now the forgotten man - the man who had his biggest chance ever but needlessly blew it!

He wasn't the manager we hoped he could be he was obviously a great man manager when he had the players on side, as that started to change his lack of skill was found out. He was stubborn and should have gone earlier.

However what he did for the infrastructure around the club and the changes he put in place will be something we will reap the benefits of in years to come. The only manager since Dougie to give a couple of kids a game.

I think if we stay up opinion may change and we will see his tenure in a slightly more positive light as an important part of the PL establishment of our club. I'm not praising the man just want to have a bit of perspective.
