World Cup next year. He won't be leaving us just yet as he needs to keep playing to get picked and that will be 100% certain if he stays. Plus, if he has a terrific World Cup who knows what transfer madness may ensue from here and abroad? If he is given any other advice then they are not looking out for his best interests.

I thought this was going to be a cryptic clue from a newspaper crossword that the answer was "Wilfried Zaha". Sometimes those clues are bizarre. Like "Man on roof, turns, eats gherkin" and the answer is "Wilfried Zaha". Never quite work out why.

Oh come on just cause he doesn't come across as greatly articulate in interviews and gets riled up easy doesn't mean he's not intelligent. He's a bit naive maybe, but I think you need intelligence to play at this level, and his decision making has improved a lot over the last year or so. He's in a good place and environment to grow. I think we can get another year out of him. Edited by FairweatherEagle (11 Apr 2017 11.24am)

I have a mate that knows him and apparently he organises a Friday night pub quiz for his team mates where he writes all the questions himself. Often the questions are about quantum physics or stem cell research and half the team get them wrong.

He could be our Le Tissier. Would hate to see him rot on a bench and lose his mojo again. He didn't really turn England down. They didn't call him up again for a tournament qualifier in the short few months at the start of this season he was showing real class consistently whilst Pardew was only interim manager. He then had the quick decision to make on Ivory Coast because the AFCON was drawing close. The biannual AFCON which is too often btw. It was an unfortunate outcome due to timing IMO. I know it's been discussed in the other thread but I think Southgate should've said this rather than the patriotic drivel he came out with. Let's just hope with a bumper pay rise that kind of club move urgency isn't there, but it's hard to turn bigger clubs down with but giver tournaments to play in and win. Players don't know when or if the next offer comes along.

Edited by Kermit8 (11 Apr 2017 9.42am) If it was England he was trying to be selected for then he'd need to be playing regularly but as it's the Ivory Coast I'd expect they'd select him now regardless having seen him do what he does for them. Not an arrogant view of them but more they're surely not stupid. With regards to supporting a country other than my own. I am not like the Scottish.
