Not so sure he even struggles to get in Bournemouths starting lineup.

happy for Big Sam to put his stamp on Pardew's old squad.

Sure thing, cabaye was good - but he hast to take some responsibility for the long stretches of poor results. But you gotta be bloody brilliant to stay longterm in this league, especially after age 31.

I would not be gutted if Cabaye goes. Perhaps we can recoup the funds for buying Sakho (and keeping Zaha). To be honest I feel a bit sorry for Cabaye. He is one of our most gifted technical players and he came to join his mentor who subsequently played him in a very deeper role and hence he was not used as effectively as he should have been i.e. in damaging the opposition. Ironically enough it is with a more defensively minded manager (and the fact that mili is doing an oustanding DM role) that Cabaye is only recently starting to shine. Hopefully this will add a few millions in the shop window and at 31 this will be good business.

I think this would make good sense for all involved. There are few that would be repared to pay the wages he is on, and if we could get 10m for him then that is good business. We have Milo now plus McCarthur still around too so plenty of options there.
I see Ledley leaving too in the summer so someone in the mould of Delph is a good shout. Competition for places still key.

Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Can't see them being relagated so doubt he'll come on to the market. Although he would be a good replacement. Do remember rumours of him wanting to move to London sometime back but was probably bs.

He used to play for Spurs. Guessing he lived in London then

Yep Sam will have his spies out looking for players. Maybe it will be like Jan an we'll put in a dozen bids and hope another Luka pops up.

He's been decent for us, if not a bit underwhelming, but factor in how good he looked in his first 3 months before he, along with a few others, 'got pardewed', and his upswing in form, and most markedly fitness, since Sam has come in, he could still hold value. That said on his wages and as a 31year old box to box player, he's clearly on borrowed time in a league as demanding as the premier. Be delighted to recoup 10m and free up his wages. I'm certain Sam would have a quality, more dynamic, replacement lined up

Agree with everything you say other than him going. Would love to see Cabaye stay now he has more freedom to roam and do what he does best. I think Sam is only more defensive minded in the sense he actually organises the team and is prepared to grind out results. Pardew just lacked any organisation and had Cabaye running around as a headless chicken, it's strange because he was initially the manager Cabaye played under in his Newcastle days.
