I wish it were so, but the good news is given the Swansea 0-0 Boro result (what a stiff Gestede is), the Magic Number has been reduced to 21, with Hull replacing Boro as the club that can achieve the most points (51) if they win out.

Great result for palace yesterday brilliant now go and beat Southampton on Wednesday and we would be nearly safe with hull playing Middlesbrough on Wednesday as well if them too draw and we win think we would only need another win and that would be enough I think but still all to play for with 9 gamesleft

I think 37 points will be enough. Great result for us btw with Swansea drawing with Boro.

The only good news from last night is that thanks to Swansea blowing their lead over Spuds, the Magic Number has been reduced to 19. Now, ifPalace can gain some points against the Arsenic!

Here's the full update on MNs: 13 Bournemouth 26 (points available 21 - next game vs. Chelsea) And, before there's a whole raft of replies saying "we need 39, I reckon", let me reiterate that this isn't predicted points totals, this is how many points need to be won by Palace or dropped by the other teams to guarantee Palace finishing above them. This is how "six pointers" actually become six pointers in that, if we beat Hull, you lop 6 points of the MN - 3 points won for us plus 3 points dropped by them. Looking at the next round, I can see all the teams around us dropping points, definitely where Boro play Burnley and West Ham play Swansea. Just remember, the MNs come down when other teams drop points even if we lose to the Arse.
We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football. |
