Pardew left our midfield wafer thin. Sam has beefed it up. We are a better team as a result, and the results are bearing that out.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Perhaps we can go all Eddie Jones, and call McArthur a "Finisher"

Jimmy hasn't been dropped due to form and I'm sure he knows that if not told so, which I reckon Sam would do. He makes sure there's communication going on in his squads. I read that if a player isn't pulling his weight he makes sure the captain and 1 or 2 strivers get him to up his game.

Really surprising how 2 underperforming players in Townsend and Punch improve significantly and one just about delivering in Cabaye as well yet one of 2 our most consistent performers in Jimmy is dropped/rested/ready for later or when required. Nobody saw all of that coming. I expect we've become so used to the same team all season.

Since hes been here im sure Sam would have watched footage of every goal we have conceded and he would have noticed that in three home games Macca lost his runner who scored each time. Lanzini(W Ham) Can(Liverpool) and Toure(City) he may feel that he doesn't track back well enough
