You had a bump on the head, No defeats against the top 6 teams, Sams good but he aint that good.

I misread it as well at first, but he's put HOME WIN often when we're away, so there are defeats against top 6 clubs in there. I still think it's optimistic (although I love the positivity) but there are defeats on that list.

I am going to go with:

Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur LOSE
Crystal Palace v Watford WIN
Chelsea v Crystal Palace DRAW
Southampton v Crystal Palace LOSE
Crystal Palace v Arsenal LOSE
Crystal Palace v Leicester City WIN
Liverpool v Crystal Palace LOSE
Crystal Palace v Burnley DRAW
Manchester City v Crystal Palace LOSE
Crystal Palace v Hull City WIN
Manchester United v Crystal Palace LOSE

I make that 11 points, and I think it'll be enough. Just. For me, the draws are as important as the wins. Get a few draws in there, especially 1 or 2 against teams nearer to the top and that could be good enough.

Looking at our remaining game’s and what I think the outcomes will be:

Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur DRAW
Crystal Palace v Watford HOME WIN
Chelsea v Crystal Palace HOME WIN
Southampton v Crystal Palace DRAW
Crystal Palace v Arsenal DRAW
Crystal Palace v Leicester City HOME WIN
Liverpool v Crystal Palace DRAW
Crystal Palace v Burnley HOME WIN
Manchester City v Crystal Palace HOME WIN
Crystal Palace v Hull City HOME WIN
Manchester United v Crystal Palace DRAW

Massively massively optimistic. What would your expectation have been for the same fixtures two weeks ago?

I think we need to get to 34/5 points to survive this season. So 9/10 more points. 37 should definitely keep us up. So if we can pick up 3 wins and 3 draws or 4 wins from the remaining I can't see us going down.

For the first time in I cannot remember how long - probably before Xmas - it feels like we've got a fighting chance. Still a long way to go, far from sitting pretty etc, but I no longer have the sense of inevitable doom of the last few months. Which is nice.

Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur LOSE
Crystal Palace v Watford WIN
Chelsea v Crystal Palace LOSE
Southampton v Crystal Palace DRAW
Crystal Palace v Arsenal LOSE
Crystal Palace v Leicester City DRAW
Liverpool v Crystal Palace LOSE
Crystal Palace v Burnley DRAW
Manchester City v Crystal Palace LOSE
Crystal Palace v Hull City WIN
Manchester United v Crystal Palace LOSE

9 Points, Hopefully a Couple Of those Draws will be sneaky wins - which could make all the difference. but those wins are must-wins.

We still have to be among the favourites to go down, our run in is so tough. Having said that I think 9-10 points will be enough this season because the top teams just are not losing to the teams below them.

Our goal difference is worth a point over Hull and Sunderland. Boro's is roughly the same but they will go down. I also think Sunderland will go down but beware of them anyway.

I'm trying to be optimistic but can only see us getting 3 wins at best plus a couple of draws (11 points in total).
My nightmare scenario is for Wayne Rooney in his last game for Man Utd, before he goes off for the money in China, to score the goal that puts us down.
He always scores against us, so I hope we are safe by then.

Let's keep the ball this season!

We aren't the only dog in this fight. In aggregate, all our rivals have similar run ins. So the question is really whether we can outperform those other teams across all our remaining games. I feel we absolutely can.

I'll admit Hull worry me. On the other, I still think Bournemouth could tank despite doing well at Man U.

I can see us losing on the last day of the season (well, of course United are favourites) but whoever is trying to catch us losing or drawing and failing to catch us. So in short, I think United will beat us but not put us down by virtue of other results.

Now I will put my crystal balls away.

11 points will be enough, I reckon 33-4 will be the best the 18th placed team will manage
