Striker will not dictate Crystal Palace future, says Allardyce Christian Benteke "will not dictate" his future at Crystal Palace, according to manager Sam Allardyce, after reports the striker is disillusioned at the club. The 26-year-old has scored 14 goals for the club since signing for £27m from Liverpool last summer, but only one in the league during the past 11 games. "He has a five-year deal so we'll tell him what he'll do," said Allardyce. He's only scored 11,,,,,,just saying!!

I would sell him asap if we can get £25mill or anywhere near. He's not Palace. Agree with you on this Kerm (what is the world coming to!)

I liked FS's response to the question in the press conference that CB has signed a contract and that it's CPFC that decides what happens. I really like FS's honesty in his press conferences, never shirks a question. As for Beneteke, I think he's put a lot more in over the last couple of games, but has lacked a goal. I think he's still better than we've had in the PL so far and will score more crucial goals. If he finishes with 15+ goals then it'll have been a decent return on the scraps he has often had to work off. If we stay up and he stays, I think there'll be a lot more focus on getting the right service and support to him next season. Good post. Think we need the midfield to move further forward in the centre and this can happen with Milo. Presently we are scrapping for every point to stay in the league so can't be this adventurous. If we stay up Tekkers will get better support. Wickham will also be an important player as more than likely his no.2. If we do stay up think we will be a lot more solid from the start. Certainly will be our most strongest starting squad.

Dont understand any criticism of benteke. Best striker we have had in a long time and he is getting in the right position holding the ball up, perfect striker for the system we use.

It's because I think we were hoping for the Christian 'Aston Villa' Benteke but he just hasn't reached that level yet this season. This guy was a top, top Prem attacker and his all round game was great. That player should be nowhere near the bottom of the league.

We get one and people are still moaning! He's already got 11 goals and will probably get between 15 and 20 for the season which is premier league quality. They're all mercenaries to a greater or lesser degree that's football!

Totally agree. How many top sides had bad seasons last year and improved dramatically this season. If can stay up next season will be totally different I think. Let's get Sakho on board as well. Different class.
We love you,we love you,we love you and where you play we follow,we follow,we follow, cos we support the Palace, the Palace, the Palace and thats the way we like it,we like,we like it...WOAH,WOAH,WOAH!!! A winner is a dreamer who never gives up... |

credit where credit is due for Benteke as he seemed to be more of a threat on sat but he still hangs back on the edge of the area. Cant understand this unless he's been told this by Allardyce. Hence it was so impoprtant that Townsend scored that second goal opportunity as he couldnt have passed it to benteke as he wasnt in sight. COYP

The TEAM won 0-2, which had a lot to do with Benteke drawing defenders. I can't recall him missing many where he's had a better than 50% chance. He's a BIG part of our current success. He works his socks off too - despite looking relaxed (fooling a lot of the less discernable posters on here), and he gives 90+ minutes and keeps himself fit and hungry. Why oh why people want to try and upset his confidence by posting rubbish on this 'FAN' sight beggars belief. His problem as a Palace striker has been no different to all the others (such as Gayle, Murray etc) who we can all see are very competent strikers - he doesn't get fed the ball as he should. There were plenty of times in our last few matches where he should have been fed the ball but wasn't. He is frustrated with that and so he should.
