I don't think I saw that. I don't rememmber ever seeing him dive and thought he was quite hard to knock over. Even if true it's a long way from the reputation earned by, say, certain Chelsea forwards.

I heard that on Talksport and I was fuming ! and I am not prone to fuming.
It was a disgraceful thing for a so called ex top referee to say,I thought they were meant to be impartial. He singled out Wilf for diving,I don't recall any of our players diving against Sunderland, but I did see Wilf in the penalty area getting blatantly pushed off the pitch.
There are plenty of divers at the "big clubs" ,Dele All, Sanchez,Hazard etc,the list is endless, but the pundits excuse them because they are being "clever"

Exactly. Costa is "entitled to go down", Zaha is "diving", Snodgrass "was successful in deceiving the referee", and McArthur's team "made the referee's job difficult".

My reading is for Costa "the referee f***ed up", for Zaha "the referee f***ed up", for Snodgrass "the referee f***ed up" and for McArthur "the referee f***ed up".

I'm f***ing appalled.

Whether there's a foul or not a player may have to go onto the ground to minimise injury risk. If you ever do say judo you learn how to fall without hurting yourself - not how to avoid falling altogether, because then you do hurt yourself. It is not Wilf's fault that he is fast and light and maybe doesn't have a low centre of gravity.

And just because he falls over once it does not mean a) that he is diving or b) that the next time it happens it's also not a foul.

As for the idea that it's Wilf's or Palace's fault that this buffoon of a ref gave such an appalling decision, this is so preposterous it beggars belief. The decisiob wasn't even against Zaha but McArthur - who is solidly built and does have a low centre of gravity, and whom (as I pointed out elsewhere) has no history of or reputation for diving whatsoever. Poll should bd roundly condemning such horrendous standards of officiating instead of excusing them by blaming perfectly fair play of the team wronged. This is coming from a senior figure in the setup and should know better than to spout such total bollocks.

Except that the problem is it isn't bollocks. It's FA policy. What did he have to say about the Snodcrass case? Did Dann "make it difficult" for the ref by not committing to a challenge that he knew would risk a penalty?

Absolutely outrageous. And Willo's argument that there's no agenda here blown completely out of the water.

As someone has pointed out, 'Poll' is not part of the refereeing 'High command' and has no influence on them, he is now employed in the media.

When Andrew played against Birmingham Steve Bruce was interviewed on MOTD about him.We got a couple of penalties ,he said he went down easily.
He joined Everton and did not get penalties.
Everton sent a dossier to the FA and they said they were all penalties.
When Andrew joined Fulham he stopped appealing for them.

Pundits and Adrian Durham have said that Wilf is going down to easily, and now the Refs have stopped giving us Pens.

For the record Andrew dived once against Norwich in that fateful season.

Wasn't it Wilf going over in the box (not saying a dive by the way) that relegated Peterborough from the Championship? Or have I dreamt up some fantastical scenario that didn't happen?

Totally agree. Benteke's name would've been on that list too, until he joined Palace of course. Those players are 'entitled to go down' if there's 'contact', or even if there's no contact if they have to dive to avoid it. Blatant double standards.

He has influence in much the same way as that prick Durham has, he says "zaha dives" and the old goats at the FA listen, then the referees listen then Zaha gets no more penalties even when blatantly fouled.....at the same time Snodgrass is "gifted" a penalty even when no one touches him......no agenda? Really?

You don't hear "Who's the b****** in the black?" or "The referee's a w***er" enough these days. I like to see a bad referee's day absolutely destroyed.

I've just checked I think it was a foul on Gabbidon.
But what I'm saying the more pundits that claim Wilf is diving the refs pick up on it.

Interestingly yesterday Bobby Madley gave a Penalty for Murray,I thought it was a pen but the pundits said it wasn't.
Murrays shirt was pulled.

Yeah I don't disagree mate. It just always gives me a bit of solace when that ginger pr*ck is slagging off Palace that we relegated Peterborough with a penalty. It would've been icing on the cake if it had been Wilf that had been fouled, but I'm still happy!
