Pretty much how we are all feeling now. Can't really think it would be any worse.

As others have said...at the end of the day it is football!

Life moves on for everyone whether we stay up or go down.

Unfortunately it seems that for many people it doesn't as they don't appear to have a life outside football

I think this will be my 7th relegation and to be honest, it always feels to me like, oh well s*** happens, we were out of our depth anyway, might as well get back to where we belong!!
The only one that was quite painful I suppose was going away to Arsenal and Wrighty scoring to send us down. I loved him so much as a player and didn't blame him, but it was hard to take at the time.also we were prematurely celebrating staying up at the player of the year do the week before.
Even clowntown sending us down didn't bother me that much because I didn't go.

Same here.

The one that really affected me though was when I was a little boy.
The 72 relegation was bad enough but the relegation under Allison from 2nd to 3rd division was tough to take.
I was in a local junior school at that time and in a class off roughly 30 (of a rough lot of 30) only 3 of us were Palace.
We naturally stuck together as mates.
The Allison relegation hurt more than most though.

Babs and Clean Willie were in love they said....

I've never forgotten the extended footage on TV of the Sheffield Wednesday supporters at the end of that game in May 2010 - disbelief, anguish, desperation on every face. And all that thousands of them could do was remain in their seats trying to come to terms with what had happened. Oh dear.

Yes....because they thought they would win the match and save their league status. Because we have been so poor, our mind set is completely different theirs,

We have 'almost' come to terms with the fact that our future in the premiership is unlikely. Therefore, it would not be such a shock if we went down.

Upsetting as it would be, not quite in the total shock category.

Hope this kind of makes sense?

But we're not out of our depth though which is why it's so annoying.

No team with Dann, Tomkins, McArthur, Cabaye, Townsend, Zaha and Benteke should be out of their depth in the Premiership

I've also seen us relegated on 7 occasions and you know what? No-one died, the world didn't end and CPFC didn't cease to exist. Life went on as usual just as it does every season for all the teams that get relegated and we'll be the same. At least you would like to think we will start winning occasionally should we go down. I can't believe many people are enjoying this season, I know I'm not.

For supporters, we have seen umpteen relegations with our beloved club having been up and down like a proverbial prostitutes knickers. It is not a "Disaster" in the sense of a human catastrophe etc etc and things do go round in 'Circles' but of course it is deeply disappointing and can be deeply distressing depending on how one's views it.I don't call it a "Tragedy" etc in the same way I don't call it a "Disaster".

What IS very sad is the effect that relegation can have on the livelihoods of non-playing members of a club as that club is forced to cut staff numbers. Some of us have to put our disappointments behind us and reflect on far more important things in life as we 'Pick ourselves up' from the canvas.Staff members have to try and find another job.Very sad - and IF (God forbid) we do slip through that relegation 'Trapdoor' I shall think of them.

Been there and done that and it is not the end of the world anymore.
I feel as if I am already prepared for it this time - not that I don't think we can escape - but the last 14 months have been complete crap so it can't get any worse.
It will be worse if a result on the last day can see us stay up but we go down right at the end.
Charlton was awful - I was there for that - i don't fancy that again!
