No matter what League we are playing in next season we need a new manager.

I don't know why we would rely on our youth. Our youth aren't very good: - Kaikai couldn't get a look in at Brentford (and was crap vs Bolton). I hope I am wrong, but I can't see any of them being anything better than mediocre Championship players a la others of ours who've ended up that way. Besides them, I think we should keep Damo; he's been here ages and he's a character, and I cant imagine he's the one to be asking for silly wages. I'd keep Ward as a back-up aswell. Ledley, Hennessey and Campbell can go, along with Mutch, Kelly, Appiah, Sako and Fryers (although the latter two might be useful squad rotation players).

Yes, it would be good to see some of the academy graduating, although it got me thinking how much longer can we refer to the likes of Kaikai and Boateng as being youngsters - Kaikai will be coming up 22 at the start of next season and Boateng is now 21. Now normally that sounds very young to me but, in footballing terms, by that age, players would hope to be playing first team football and not still waiting for their chance.

Going back to the original question, I would suggest Benteke, Zaha, Townsend and Cabaye will all go even if we stay up. If so, we would recoup plenty of money for SA to go and spend, and it would be very interesting to see the types of player he brings in. I'd hope for a focus on defenders and midfield but time will tell.

There is no more damning indictment than that. Still, if we do go down I'd be keen to see these guys given a go (even just up until xmas) rather than go and spank a load of money on journeyman Champ/Lower Prem players as relegated teams so often do.

IF we go down, one of the few positives would be that there would be a chance to give some of the young starlets a proper run out - Kaikai, Boateng et al Only if we are aiming to go straight to League 1. These guys would prob be ok in League1 or 2.

There will be a mass exodus whether we stay up or go down.

If we go down the main thing we'll be clearing out will be supporters, I reckon about 8,000 of them

Yes big clear out required which is difficult whichever league we're in. Looking at our squad, excluding loans, it is already pretty unbalanced in terms of age. Young players (under 24) Peak players (24-29) Old players (30 and over): Pretty amazing that our only regular player in the squad under 24 is Wickham - need some youth!
