If we beat Middlesborough,I think we will stay up,any other result then we most likely will go down .Because by then our new boys will be up and running,so if that doesn't work what will.

I think it is very optimistic to assume we can get enough points to stay up. Our poor form in the last 12 months suggests that we can't. I thought Sunderland was the worst team in the Premier however after last week's defeat in fact we are. Also Allardyce's team selections don't give confidence with Benteke left isolated and the same mid field and defence that have proved not good enough for the Premier. It was also a bit rich the chairman blaming the players last week his and the board's management have left a lot to be desired.

Perhaps if we had a list of their twitter addresses we could send messages of support to the players. I know they get paid a fortune but they are still our players and make up our team. Positive messages can't do any harm and could do some good. I know it sounds all New Age stuff but it may be worth a try. No negative messages to any of the squad.

Look at Middlesbrough's last few 'Away' Results and they haven't won any but they don't lose by many goals either and only recently it took Tottenham a penalty to beat them 1-0 at 'White Hart Lane'. They have lost 1-0 at Tottenham, drew 0-0 at Watford, lost 2-1 at Man Utd, Lost 1-0 at Burnley and lost 1-0 at Southampton. Suspect they will be resilient and hard to break down. Every time I go to Selhurst I start with optimism which is drained out of me as the game progresses. I really don't know if we can survive in the Premiership this season but if we go down it won't be through negativity from me or the hoards of supporters around me. It will be because of the consistently poor performances on the pitch.

There is a lesson in Leicester's great escape of a couple of seasons ago. Perhaps we can do likewise - then win the Premier title the following season.

I think the negativity is justified based on the performances. We've had a few games labelled 'must win' but other results have been kind to us. Middlesbrough now genuinely is a must win. We'd be out the bottom 3, leapfrog them and have confidence. Still not great but we'd have a chance. Leicester are capitulating and Boro and Sunderland are both weak. Lose it however and we are screwed! Actually we probaby wouldn't leapfrog them but it would certainly help...

Boro could be this years cup final for us and it's at home! Our fans have a huge part to play in this and have a chance to inspire a great revival.
We move in the direction of our thoughts. |

There have been many great escapes over the years by teams in more precarious positions than we are in,so never say never.

While I really want us to stay up I would hate nothing more than to be supporting a bland club cemented in mid table, no genuine prospects of breaking the glass ceiling (Leicester being a freak event as demonstrated by their form this season)and never in fear of relegation. If you've been around for long enough you know how hard supporting this club can be at times and how we are often at our best when we're the underdogs. Well that title has been re-instated.Still so much to play for. Only 2 points off safety. I love this club, I love the vast majority of our fans and that isn't dependent on what division we're in. Let's get stuck in and stop wailing. It is what it is. Nice response. I said earlier in the season that it would go to the wire, and we will stay up on the last day of the season. On goal difference. And still believe that. It is the Palace way. P.S. The goal difference won't be as much as it could have been.
