My real answer (and this actually relates to going to non-league football) is to spend time with my dad, who is quite a quiet person with not many hobbies (i.e.: a bit boring like me) and watching a sh*t football team in the cold is something we have in common to talk about.

Gawd love you PTJ. You may be boring but at least your posts are gently amusing. I go there for the same reason I post here: its the easiest way for me to bury my head in the sand. I wildly over think Palace and invest too much in individual games, all to avoid reality. I think that's what we all do. Who wants to think about wars, famines, politics, economics, loved ones health/mental health worries, pensions, inflation, the mortgage, bills and s*** like that all the time. There are perhaps more cerebral, stimulating pleasures out there -- art, music, film, theatre -- but there is something nice about just going to Palace and following/ having a view on the daft never ending story of what is still the community's club.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

For me, I've always found Palace as somewhere I belong, and I haven't felt like I belong in very many places in my life (sob story, eh?). Palace is kinda in my family; both grandads supported Palace. My brother supports ManUre (the one who got me into football) and my dad don't like football. Got my nephew into it, and discovered another supports Brighton (he's only 10, hopefully he'll change). Overall, the atmosphere I get, the buzz I get when you're on the stands, the release I get from my s***ty life is why I come. Not really family reasons. I will continue to come as long as I can identify with the club in some way, and, even in spite of what's happening this season, I can't see that ever really changing (unless something really drastic changes). #PTID Edited by Dan1994 (14 Feb 2017 6.33pm)

I go for the drink mostly. Head to the Two Brewers, see my old friends, drink many beers. Most of the talk about where Palace are going wrong eludes me. I can't see the point in debating something we have no control over at all.

I used to go home and away with a large group, drinking was order of the day and to be honest most the time I couldn't see the pitch let alone care about the result. These days I go with my boy who's youg enough to keep me off the sauce, and we go to watch palace play ( which has been a very different experience), before It wouldn't matter what Division we played in as long as the pubs were open, now I really do enjoy watching the game, explaining the set up and tactics to the boy and watching him getting into the sport (as I did),
