We are for me in a fight to stay up and it just depends whether Sam can get them going. IMO we should play 2 up front Benteke & Remi and go for it. Pardew has left many problems (idiot) as he does everywhere he goes. I wish Sam all the best and hope he stays if we do go down.

I certainly haven't given up hope.Still plenty of points to play for and there could be a number of twists and turns as the season unfolds.Still all very close at the bottom end of the table so we are not cut adrift in any shape or form.I keep believing !

After that little bit of progress that led to the win at Bournemouth we seem to have gone backwards several steps.

We just don't look a unit.We must be the worst passing side in the league rarely managing to string more than a handful of passes together. We look totally ineffectual going forward - slow and laboured and creating few opportunities. Our crossing is generally poor. In fact everything about us at the moment is poor.

But why? We declined rapidly under Pardew last year and continue to do so under SA, that in spite of having spent a fortune on bringing in new players. There seems to be something toxically wrong at the club. I would have some optimism if we looked competitive and were being unlucky and not getting the rub of the green. But no, we are getting exactly what we deserve and are increasingly looking doomed.
