The owners of LFC are American but I digress. Will be interesting to see if they boycott Sky & Talksport both who are owned by Murdoch. I don't think it extends beyond The Sun because of the comments made by that paper.

Does your theory also apply to the owner of the Independent? Absolutely. And the Daily Mail and the Telegraph and pretty much 70% of our information system. Taking back control - not while people who don't live here influence so much of our information system and our politics we're not. Some of them get to give their bias opinions away free on over crowded trains as well.

When talksport got bought out by them last year Colin Murray quit as presenter saying as Liverpool supporter he couldnt work for them with a clear conscience. Fair play to the bloke imo. Shame as well cos i didnt mind his show and infinitely better than his replacement Jim (i'm great) White.

The Liverpool Echo claims it took this long due to a "change in circumstance." It seems to stem from the Inquest verdict and a renewed effort since then, especially since both the Sun and Times ran the story inside the paper and not on the front page. Something tells me that the league and/or the FA will order this out on "free press" grounds.

This thread is all about virtue signalling. Nothing else. Nothing more. Nope, not at all: I'm merely expressing what I believe. Always happy if others have a different though reasoned point of view.

Your attitude that all people are brainless droogs, and you are the only one seeing through the matrix, is patronising.

I stand by my observation. Yawn! Here we go again... When I'm reminded of the preventable disaster and ensuing behaviour from both police and press.... ...then I'm certainly not 'virtue signalling' or anything daft like that. Are you going to therefore accuse the likes of Prof Phil Scanlon of the same behaviour?

Are you going to therefore accuse the likes of Prof Phil Scanlon of the same behaviour? I would never accuse Phil Scraton (note the spelling) of being a virtue signaller. As you clearly do not understand what virtue signalling is, let me explain. Virtue signalling is when someone publically expresses an opinion in order to demonstrate moral correctness but not actually doing anything about it. For example, taken at random, this could be pronouncing a 'position' on a newspaper on a forum for football fans or liking a post on Facebook backing something someone has said about refugees but not actually doing anything more than that. Leading a campaign for justice is not virtue signalling because you are doing something about something you care about. You are putting time and effort into a cause. I hope this assists.

Its too often used to cast aspersions on opponents as an alternative to rebutting their arguments.
