1st post here after just joining, so here's my thoughts on the changes we need to get us out the current malaise! Firstly, I know we all love him, but Punch has got to be dropped. He gives the ball away far too much, is lightweight, ponderous, has no pace and doesn't offer enough attacking threat or link up play between attack and midfield. Also, a lack of Defensive midfielder and someone to stop teams dominating in midfield and walking through to our fragile defence is critical. Cabaye does not impose himself and just turns into a petulant sulk when things get rough, and doesn't get stuck in enough. Massive disappointment for me. Something is up with Ledley as well. Cannot (or will not) reproduce his Wales, Celtic or early Palace form and be our "Makele" and impose himself as DM. Ward has been crap as well, so fragile and a weak leak at the back and offers little going forward. Hennessey is a shocking keeper and even though Jules is past it, surely even he would be a better option than WH at present. My team for Stoke (4-4-1-1) Assuming Dann, Mandanda and Milviojevic are out, but to replace those where name in bracket) Speroni (MANDANDA) Tomkins-Delaney (DANN)-Sakho-Van Aanholt Zaha-McArthur-Cabaye (LUCA)-Schlupp Townsend Benteke
Thought?
