Gutless bottle job who only passes backwards, and hides behind the oppositions players when we have the ball. The problem many of our players do that or pass sideways most of the time. They just lack confidence carrying the ball forward. We don't see many forward through balls in the centre for our strikers to chase.

Just get punch out team and bring Townsend in and put mccarthur where he belongs in the middle. If cabaye is injured play the new lad instead. Just don't wanna see punch or Ledley anywhere near the team

Clear today that we were hoofing very poor crosses to Benteke in some hope mission. Our midfield lacks any goal threat and there is absolutely nothing through the middle. The Serbian whilst being defensive minded has scored 6 goals in Greece this season and surely now must be given a chance. Remy needs to be involved now, as well as Sakho at the back. Wilf and Townsend need to head to the by line quickly more often with Benteke putting himself about in the danger area as well. I also agree that Punch must give way. In fact it is this loyalty to these type of players which is one of the reasons we are struggling, Cabaye as well.

Puncheon was shocking again ,lost the ball 4 times in the first 15 mins and then waves his arms around at other players ,There is no doubt in my mind that BFS will dump him ,Ledley and sadly Delaney as soon as Sahko , and Millovesivcivc, are Fit , After all Puncheon was trying to go to QPR in the transfer window

Well past his best. Lost the ball in CM three times in the opening 15 mins. Even when he did finally pass forwards in the second half he did it so slowly that any momentum was lost. Can't believe that JM was taken off again, yet Puncheon stayed on.

Think Punch quite often gets unfairly criticised because he try's to puts his foot on the ball rather than treating it like a hot potato. That said he can slow us down, especially in that deeper role, and none more so than in the first half today. We were so slow in the build up passing it side ways and back in our own half. We aren't even very good at it, losing possession time and time again. If they were expecting pacey energised attacks and pressure then Sunderland can't have believed their luck. Unless we can sort out these slow and laboured build ups I can't see how we can turn it around, for me that means dropping Punch.

Great under Pulis. Good under pardew when he first arrived and scored a crucial goal against Norwich. He's a failed winger playing defensive midfield, when flamini sitting on the bench. Extremely poor in 1st half. Let before 2nd half started.

he's an attacking wide player playing in the defensive middle, and he's good as a squad player competing for a place but he switches off after he plays too regularly, he needs to be competing with Wilf, Schlupp and Townsend for two of the wide positions, we might see a bit of his old self back you never know.
